Hose burst on my flail. Got it replaced as well as another damaged hose from a connector the previous owner had made up.

Learnt a little bit more about the particular connectors from the hose guy. Apparently not unusual sizes but uncommon on the side shift flail.

Pretty pricey and I'm a bit anxious considering how many hoses are on the unit.

Had you pinched or knicked it Richy? (not suggesting it was "unpaid for")

Early on, I crushed a hose on the grab by not paying attention when the opening the grab.  Lesson learnt - I'm very careful now.  I'm too tight-wad to be paying out for things that could/should have been avoided.

I hadn't but it looks like it had been crushed before I got it. Obviously it hadn't quite burst but when I had the flail on high flow for a week it's been enough the finish it off. On the side shift flail there are a lot of hoses and they are far too vulnerable in my opinion.

The 'adaptor' had been made up by the previous owner as well from cutting it the HD muck grab. I use it to run that and my auger torque head. The problem was whoever had made it up put into too much hose so instead of sitting nicely it was bending and really tight when in use. This obviously buggered it as both pipes has split at the same spot at it's most torte (sp) point.

Routine stuff, pulling branches up a slope to the chipper.

I am not knocking you, as I am seriously considering a machine and honestly interested...  did the loader really help much there?  Surely the chipper was just off shot so no real drag and a man could have dragged that branch in the chipper by the time the operator had climbed in the cab..?  Or am I missing something?

Fair question.

Some factors.

We mullered a very large ash (or retrenched depending on your viewpoint) too dangerous for the lads to play chicken under the tree whilst I slammed the bits down,  at the base there was a house high iggledy piggledy pile of large ash branches, you’re seeing it nearly cleared up and  finished when I was taking some pics to send to the client.

With the loader we were able to go in and pull the branches out separately and take them up the (deceivingly) steep slope.
