Thought I was not going to get any calls, then 2.30 a friend phones up saying their neighbours Birch has gone over and caught in his Pine tree - good job it did as his conservatory was the other side!!

Apart from the Pine it got caught in there was only one other pine which I was able to get the lowering rope up and over a branch and back down onto the Birch trunk anout 2/3rds up to tie it off and stop it falling further. Then up the Pine tree it was hung up in too start cutting it free - don't you love it when you get to the last bit that is supporting it, and not being quite sure what is going to happen when you cut it!!

Got it down ok and the shed and fence survived.

Times like that I wish I had a GRCS to lift the tree up.

just seen a fairly large lime with the root plate ripped out of the ground in camberwell with city suburban sorting it out and about 20 PCSO's 'directing' traffic. it had demolished some iron railings and a lamppost but didn't see any cars under it or people thankfully, as it was over 2 lanes coming up to a very busy junction. stupidly i didn't get any pictures :P
