Whats your exit strategy?

I'd like to sell stuff, like chippers and grinders, I was a salesman in a previous life so know the drill.
 
Not going to happen, but had things been different....

Property! Two rentals nicely paying themselves off and once they're mortgage free then that's the pension. Knowing my luck the tenants will burn them down the minute the mortgage is paid and my insurer will find a clause to not shell out. So bear me in mind folks I may be that geriatric climber you've been looking for down the line.

I've owned a few over the years, as you know Mark, the big sellers Jensen, TW, GM, Forst, Schliesing etc. Are all good machines, what'd give me a buzz is showing people how these things can help them make more money.

After fixing my edge cutter and then moving on to fixing my mower the other day, I was wondering if I might have a sideline mending other peoples equipment..

 

what with Utube and picking others brains on here it might only take a few months to get to grips with that sideline.. then again maybe not, of the dozens of mends I've had a stab at, most of ended up in the scrapheap.

i had another customer 'groundy' the other day, was going to come back the next day for a morning to clear up, but he did most of it , 78 and still going strong. My exit strategy is a pipe dream one - to find good investments in the stock market and hold them for years - missed Amazon, Apple, and the oil boom, got a  few mining shares, some generic pharma and EDF,  roll on  Hinkley point C

ever tried following a workshop service manual? - fixed a few petrol machines Stihl,  Honda etc, from reading the service manual, clear instructions for all systems on the machine

I prefer my instructions through Utube, I loose patience reading manuals.. mostly I throw them out anyways..

Well I am sure that isn't the case but the point is there and any father should tell their kids how to sort out savings, pension, mortgage etc and how all this stuff works but unfortunately, no one seems to understand it or care!

I did a bit from my mid 20s and it helped me start my own business from being made redundant from the corporate world and that is the point - start early and have a plan!
