Seemed like a lot of faffing to me.

 

I'd have just spiked up and cut-n-chucked it in less time, with no need for all that plant.

I don't wear the hooks anymore.... And try not to get out of the bucket... that top would have been quite difficult to handle from the hooks whether you were lowering or not, because there wasn't much room to the maple below and that was under more than half the tree...  These things are often hard to judge from the small screen. While I agree sometimes its just faster to hook up a tree, rather than messing with the throw line, getting it stuck etc.. Not here though... blowing that top made for an easy day....
