Hi. Sorry for that slight detour with a first post but does any know of good thornproof(ish). We do loads of blackthorn/hawthorn clearance stuff (digging splinters out now). Chainsaw gloves get trashed too quick for the money and welders guantlets are too think to use a saw confortably and seen too fill up with chip/sawdust. I dont mind shelling out on something if I know they're going to last.

Ok this is prob of no use but I had some cheapo (£4ish) leather gloves that had a bit of a fleece lining in. Were really good for hawthorns etc, I think the extra bit of padding helped alot. The leather was fairly soft but surprisingly good:thumbup1:

 

Now If I knew were I bought them it would probably be of some help!

Welders gaunlets are good, go all the way upto the elbow too, great for thorns :thumbup:

Dickies do some excellent leather fleece lined gloves, great for thorn work. About £8.:thumbup:

 

You can use them on the ground easy enough, but are too cumbersome to climb in.
