Has anyone used pvc sheeting over a metal frame for a tipper body? I'm thinking of getting some 5mm 8x4 sheets in white and riveting them to an aluminium box section frame. The lower half on the inside would need be aluminium as it won't crack when throwing big chunks in, but the upper section will only come into contact with chip and brash. It would be fairly light, easy to work with, and as its used for signage, easy to fix graphics to?

Would be light but I think you would smash it in no time though could be wrong!

Been pricing aluminium for the tipper body, 8x4 aluminium sheets are £60 each and 24mmx25mmx3mm aluminium box section is £5.40 per metre. Would an aluminium box section frame clad in the aluminium sheeting on both sides be strong enough for the whole body, or would I be better keeping the original steel sides and tail gate (heavy but strong) and making a lightweight aluminium upper section to replace the angle iron and plywood?
