How much to rent your yard

No. It's not entirely ideal long term. It's a collection of old farm buildings and the layout is fiddly. If I were to buy a site it would be blank so as I could start from scratch.

I rent a small shed on a disused farm, roughly 60ftx30ft for £250 a year. It has electric though I don't use it, and a tap outside. I'm allowed to use the yard as long as I don't block it up, and there are a couple of full size barns on site which I can get the use of if I want to pay extra. Its about 2 miles from my house out of the way which is what I want. It needs a bit of work but the fact the farm looks derelict keeps the thieves away. I mainly use it for storing logs and bulky stuff that's not worth stealing, being out of the way means I can go there on rainy days and process wood without annoying anyone. It will be interesting to see if the rent goes up next year!

Just outside north London we pay 3k a month for a concrete yard 80x40m with open fronted barns down one side on an industrial estate.

 

Yards are worth what someone is willing to pay and with more and more being lost to housing then can only see decent yards becoming more expensive!

sounds good mate keep things up together if i were you particularly the sawdust and bark me and my mates have lost so many rented yards over the years because of this. I run things from a retired farmers place now its ideal my bits the tidy area

Hi 120x30ft building (1/4 of 120x120 building particained off) small outside storage area for ibc crates pallets etc and a big yard round corner (100yds away)where I can get several arctic loads of timber dropped got water and electric in building £100 per calendar month.

We have a 60x40 ft secure unit on a farm with electric and water and a 60x40 ft yard for logs and woodchip next to our unit and pay 175 a week plus leccy 24hr access .

£100 a week is cheap enough, and as Ian said 24 hour access is a must really.

And to make my life easier I have 3 yards as well as my house one - a main yard and 2 satellite yards.
