"Men, stop firing that gun, it's a complete waste of time, some of the bombers will still get through".

I think a fair few of them do fly over the borders!! A few hundred thousand undocumented immigrants in the US come from different continents. I thought overstaying visas was the main way illegal immigrants come to be there..

Its just a simple solution offered up to solve a complex problem - seems to be a good way to get votes. It's obviously a silly unworkable idea, just like the travel ban was

Deporting people is as easy as the politicians allow it to be.....

So are you suggesting we just machine gun all the immigrants down now?

Isn't a fair bit of that being done already in the US? I think Obama was responsible for a lot of deportations.

What we should do is save them from drowning then send them back to Africa.

They are not our problem.

I also think it will make only the really determined nutters get in leaving you with less numbers but more serious problems from them

Can you not see how much easier that will make seeing "the wood from the trees"?

Also illegals cannot claim benefits or work legally, that makes our country a hell of a lot less attractive.

Present estimate - 1.1 million + (figures from Migration Watch UK)

The Home Office estimated 430,000 in 2001

The London School of Economics estimated 670,000 in 2007

That's a huge amount to get through despite being an island!

Does this prove that hard borders work or that they don't?

The UK really struggles to deport people due to "human rights". There are a lot of criminals that are here that really should be deported.
