Another woodchipper accident in the states

There is a guy 2 fields away from me who killed his young son backing out a tractor . This was many years ago now but it still haunts him .

 

Thats terrible, its one of the things I always worry about if I ever get on any heavy equipment..

and one of the reasons I tend to not use it if I can help it...

That's a shocking story can't even imagine how he feels. And how does a piece of ivy drag a man into a chipper, he must of been kicking stuff in surly.

Indeed the statement that the Ivy got entangled with his leg and pulled him in - sounds more like he stuffed the hopper full of Ivy and used his foot to present it to the rollers hence he couldn't grab the stop bar, all conjecture of course.

 

As for the second link, truly tragic....
