Thieving scum!

I really feel for the people having equipment stolen, there's nothing worse than saving hard to buy equipment and having some tosser steel it. I agree with others here, they should have their hands chopped off, the police are so stretched now that investigating "petty crime" seems to a no no. As for getting off with shooting some one, this is just one judges opinion, the law says you are allowed to use reasonable and appropriate force. You would only get off with doing serious damage to some one If you thought you or your families life was in danger, and then you have to prove it was necessary to run your best knife over the back of all his fingers.😁

My mate did and he had 7 years !

If I lose my £500 quid saw that's petty crime or a lock up full worth say £25000 is still petty crime then what is the amount you need to have nicked before it qualifies as real crime ? ( mind you nick a pack of fish fingers from Lidls and armed response will be there in 30 seconds)

And as far as the police being stretched at the moment, then what is that is taking all their time?

I'm not having a pop matey I'm just making an observation

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sticking up for any one here, I'm stating facts, the police budgets have been cut year on year for years under the Tories so they are now having to prioritize what they investigate and from what I see, nobody is getting hurt during these thefts so they don't bother, not something I agree with. And I only point out what the cps website says defending yourself with reasonable force.

Personally I agree with the laws that most American states have and would like to see them here.

If that f****r decides to break into my home or trespass on my property then he risks getting a double tap from my MP5 and I should not have to worry about recriminations. 😁

I'm pretty much seething with anger at my recent trailer theft, the whole injustice that I know they will get away with and the police have done nothing basically. I can tell you now I wouldn't give a jot about English law or 'reasonable force' should I ever catch them. They are stealing my liivlihood that provides for my family.

Mathew, the sad fact is that you will end up in prison, lose your job/house etc, an elderly friend of mine suffers from ms and was burgled. His son put barbed wire along the top of the 6ft high fence that they climbed over as a future deterrant, someone reported it to the police and they came round and told him to remove it or they will prosecute him. You have to do as much as you can to deter these scum, alarm/cameras / big dog, make that a big vicious dog

Before I left working on the holiday park one of the customers was a retired road traffic officer. He now does some gardening at the Local HQ he was telling me how things have changed at the police. Everybody had to drive to work, highway cars were granadas or rovers. Squad cars were metros or basic escorts. The only posh car was to chauffeur the chief constable to official functions but he had to find his way to work and home. Nowadays all officers in managerial positions have a company car (mid sized BMW upwards) the chief has a bobby dazzler company car and a chauffeured car, highway cars wouldn't be out of place on top gear and squad cars ain't exactly slumming it.

I wonder where the budget goes

The MET are busy catching drivers texting at the lights. Luckily there are no murders, rapes, robberies, kids carrying knives this week so they can put all their efforts into dishing out £200 fines.

The only time I've seen police response within minutes was when we witnessed somebody carrying a gun.... quite impressive how fast it was dealt with!

Turned out it was a starting pistol.

cheers, Steve
