Surfing Wave Table

Surfin USA table! Elm board with ash fin riding a spalted English walnut wave. About 4' long and 18" tall.

 

I used American black walnut dowels to fix the board to the wave. Initially carved with a chainsaw then lots of sanding :)

 

Finished with OSMO Polyx satin.

 

Table #3 will definitely be a simpler affair :)

Thanks guys for all the compliments. Its pretty difficult these days to come up with your own design but I'm happy with how it worked out.

I'd bought a walnut tree unseen for £40 and was a bit hacked off to find negligible heartwood but I think the spalting and mottling makes up for it :)
