Disposing of waste

I keep see that word WASTE it is only this if it has no further use.

Yea, after reading some of rules on here its dawned on me that all my waste will have a future use...

Wood will become firewood eventually?.. chip will be added to the midden to be used as compost....

Metal to be recycled at the scrapyard...

And anything else I collect as I go about my business will be burned because its come from my own house....:thumbup1:

And next time the council come down, I won't be lettin them pick out pieces of evidence from the fire that they can use in court as evidence...

Last time they did that I ended up in the magistrates and got a three hundered pound fine for ma troubles....

I'd ask the EA for an extension permit on a D6 exemption.

The D6 exemption allows you to burn waste in an incinerator. One of the restrictions is that you're only allowed an incinerator capable of 50kg/hr... If you'd like a bigger one you'll have to ask for a permit.

On the same restrictions it says you can make a stockpile of max 5t.

Something like an airburner burns quick and clean, perhaps contact Justin Kingwell (who hires out and sells these) as they may know more.

Ha. Yes. Can I then give it away as kindling.?

btw regarding my relatives, they burn it in a straw burner to heat hot water.Which then is used to heat their swimming pool? Does that count?

All my waste including fence panels, sticks/branches I cut up bag and sell as kindling. time consuming but works for me (I don't have masses i.e. not working 5 days a week)

My old boss used to have fires all the time .

His motto was ( little and often )

A big old smoldering burn is going to attract lots of attention

Good advice:thumbup1:

As for burning fence panels, start a small fire on top of them instead of under them and let the fire burn slowly through the pile hence no smoke.

I'll give that.... burning fence panel trick ... a try very soon . Cheers :001_smile:

You've hit the nail on the head with the word time. Were out five to six days every week. That leaves us none.

Even splitting our arb arising timber into logs costs that precious commodity and is done to fill time when we can't for whatever reason get on with a job.

I'm lucky, chippings I give away and never struggle to do so, timber we stack and split but often struggle to do this in timely fashion. The hedge cuttings and sweepings are the expensive bit. Especially if like me burning them and even storing them on your yard is not strictly lawful and unlikely ever to be approved as such.

£100 per ton green waste from biffa. Cheapest so far has being £70 a ton, that's for a skip at the yard collected as and when.

£41 per ton + £10 for weighbridge @ leeds city council. Don't fancy hand balling 2 ton of waste into a container by hand though!
