Do eucs like heavy pollarding

Not sure they 'like' it, but they certainly enjoy the challenge of growing back.

You can almost stand and watch the new growth.

 

The only euc I ever killed way my own one when I tried to re-locate it when it had reached 10 ft tall.

In my experience eucalyptus (in this country at least) respond to harsh pruning with lots of growth, much like willow or lime. I've dealt with the cyclical cutting aftermath of previously topped eucs many times, not once known it to kill them, but they do rot quickly. I've never seen one properly pollarded before, but I imagine they'd take well to it.
