This maddness how you all react but funny especially little grass,s

Few facts,

I'm my own boss, but the guy I answer to regarding rail work is 10 times worse then you can imagine

I'm not on NR I'm on LuL so we can only work when trains are NOT running "01:00 - 04:00"

On days we normally work short hours due to train frequency if it's raining we can't work

We hit our targets giving to us "or we wouldn't be working would we ?"

My work on the rail is cushy that's why I'm there and it allows me to pick and choose my own tree Work as all of us on here enjoy our work I like to do 3 to 4 jobs a week I pass the rest on or sub out etc

I probably average 15h a week rail & same on my own tree Work so do less hours then the average working week

I get to pick my kids up from school go to there assemblies etc it's a real good work life balance

I leave for work at midnight back in bed by 4/5 back up by 10ish nip out on tree job 12ish done by 3ish "remember I cherry pick my work" spend loads of time with family

So not all bad is it and like said there's a 1000 difference contractors doing a 1000 different jobs on the rail all getting there slice, my personal no 1 trade that does sweet FA and gets paid well OTT electricians you'd be shocked "pardon the pun" what they get away with and top earning blue collar job has to be a T.O " technical officer" apox £500 a shift plus O/T

It's a big wide world out there ya gotta grab every opportunity.......

I dont think anyones questioning your lifestyle or dening you an easier way of making a living, its more the arrogant way that you come across.

Perhaps its unintended but it seems you take pleasure in rubbing peoples noses in the fact you enjoy gettin paid to do very little.

I for one would love to have the carefree attitude you seem to portray as having but alas im one of those people who have a conscience and gives a **** about others.

To each his own i suppose...

I couldn't give a monkey's.

Can't understand why peoples panties are in a bunch.

At least he's up front about it.

I've often wondered about the compensations of what must be the hardest, least rewarding job in arb.

Hardest least rewarding arb work is line clearance....butchering trees for a horseshit sandwich whilst being eaten by midges

Never done it tbh.

I did do a little railwork. Up and down steep banks miles from anywhere, finishing a job before the shutdown was over. Gruesome!

I filled in as a rescue climber for a groundie who was off sick doin some line clearance up near inverness....no joy in that job...none.

Some of us enjoy working our nuts off!?

I'm pretty sure if you set up a poll you'll find this not to be the case.

I started out in line clearance, I really enjoyed it.

Got all over, in some very beautiful places.

Worked some very nice, very big trees.

Live line work was always interesting :thumbup1:
