when i get a trunk down to about 8 feet i will usually plank it vertically with a big saw, much easier carrying out table tops with 2 guys than huge thin rings

just stand on a couple of rings and get the 088 out if it is 4 feet wide or more, if you have a ripping chain then even better, but 2 guys will carry out an 8 feet long lenght thats 6 inches wide no bother. keepsa ll the sawdust in the one spot to, even put a dumpy bag on the floor and stand in it, and it is the nice long stringy stuff, good for looking like a big girls wig or bunny rabbit hutches lol

thats a good idea, 8ft long 3ft wide bits of wood could be useful for more than just firewood as well.

i was trying to get the clip from bugsy malone, where the wee fat boxer put a pile on his head and started singing ' my name is tilulah' but i couldnt find it lol

You're wrong anyway, numb nuts.

 

If you cut ALONG the grain (like milling) you get powdery sawdust like flour.

 

You only get curly wig sawdust when cutting perpendicular to the grain, like when halfing a big ring.

 

So there.
