No, it was a woodpecker with aspirations. That hole was 75 feet up.

Nasty area, I keep telling the wife we should move somewhere nicer.

 

Honey fungus is the strong favorite.

 

Just stripped it to a pole today, crane coming on monday to take the stem down.

 

Had it stripped by 11am, then spent most of the day shovelling up dead twigs and needles. 2 transit loads of them. Every limb i dropped just crumpled into a piles of tiny fragments.
