I have a husky 135 that I use for cutting firewood so it gets used for a few days then not for weeks, I have always run it on aspen with no issues in starting or anything else.Arbtalk mobile app

I run my 135 on Aspen as well. I ran it on pump fuel at first and I had to richen it up a bit and speed up the tickover when I switched to Aspen but it runs sweet enough and no starting problems.

I think aspen (or equivalent) is a must for anyone who uses stuff on/off, I now run my lawnmower on aspen 4.

Probably just run it from new on Aspen as it will keep it sweet. The reason is that sporadic use means you will either need to drain the saw down after use or just use Aspen that can be left in the saw and will not degrade rubbers and carb components.

The risk of using other fuels is that they will be left for long periods in the saw and may well cause seizure or other issues if you use old fuel and not fresh mix each time.

If you decide to use normal pump fuel then use a semi or full synthetic quality oil in the fuel and avoid other cheaper alternatives.

Using fully synthetic Husky oil is a wise move, it does spec that in the handbook. I used Sthil std syth which is shown as an option and siezed my new 560.

Being as Aspen2 is only £10 a barrel more expensive than Aspen4, why not simply buy Aspen2? It save all the hassle of mixing too.

The 2 stroke FRT oil was specially developed to meet the needs of all modern 2 stroke machines including Husqvarna and exceeds the specs of most, if not all, oils on the market.

That's what I've been using, however I understand the oil used in aspen 2 is not as good as the top spec synthetic husqvarna or redline oil.
