Just after a little feedback on what 2 stroke is the most popular, I used to use Oregon many years ago but have used Stihl for over 5 years now. I've recently had a lot of issues with saws not running right and have been told by a friend to try using husqvana 2 stroke as it is way better for the saws as Stihl 2 stoke contains water.

It's a new one on me, but though I'd ask

What colour stihl have you been using?

The red is just mineral oil and has given issues with the 4 mix engines

The green semi synthetic is good stuff :)

I've always used red

What saws/kit are you using? Autotune & four stroke really needs semi or full synthetic!

We use a range of different saws

Husqvana's 550/560xp, 395xp, 540xp and 3120.

Stihl's ms362, ms441,ms 460,ms660,ms650, ms200, & ms201's

I'm putting red Stihl in all of the above

Just started using semi synthetic because of the later saws, Rye oils sent some with a barrel of chain oil a few months ago. No issues so far.

Red voids warranty on strato saws. No one reads owners manuals any more.

All the Autotune/Mtronic saws MUST have semi or fully synthetic. Putting red through them increases the risk of seizure and bearing issues. The conventional non autotune/strato saws will run on Stihl HP red and be OK if you need to run it out.

The tech - the autotune and strato saws use a lot less fuel, less fuel means less oil so you need to use the higher quality oil....simple!
