If only we were all that chilled...nice backdrops - sounds and views

Did you climb to the top to put in your TIP before coming down to trim out the branches? If so, why

Thanks Reg

I am sure Reg has his own reasons but how else do you get a camera at the top of the tree looking down without climbing it?

Also I personally find it easier and quicker spinning around the pole with a top anchor.

Thanks all.

The DBH was nothing, like 2 and a half feet tops.

The saw is a 200T. I have 3 now and am well happy about it.

Yes that's Pauls chest harness. Best, and safest hitch tending system Ive used of yet.

I stripped probably a third of the branches from the flipline, and was tempted to just carry on instead of messing with the camera....but we had plenty of time and I was confident the weather was going to stay calm. So, while I didn't need the SRT line, it is nice to have once you've taken a couple mins to set up. And, youre no longer carrying the weight of a wet rope thereafter its tied off....which would have been almost all of 150 length by the time I topped the tree out. The top was 18 ft or thereabouts.

Nice and slick as always reg , glad you put this up as I had my first big silver fir today , a split multi stemmed 40 m + to wind firm/monolith I guess and you looking that comfy on a dying one put me well at ease. 👍🏻ImageUploadedByArbtalk1480092658.706751.jpg.d8d26a4188f9a5f3d2ef7ededd087256.jpg
