Entec exhaust glowing red hot

Hi, I have just swapped my kohler engine for a new one. I have ran it up to check all roller controls work then went to turn it back off and the exhaust was glowing red in just that story time.

 

Anyone know why this is happening?

 

Also do you have to do anything like run it in or can it be used out the box.

I've the same engine and chipper. But I've never seen mine hot like that in over 10 years. Can I ask how much you paid for the new engine. is it 25hp?

Did you check the revs or set governor?

I would say running lean

sounds mad, but check the air filter is not still wrapped up in plastic as it's new!
