And you understand why those that think like you are very chicken little, worry about what YOU can control.

Do I live a pretty low impact lifestyle, yup.

Am I pretty centre with my views Yeap.

Labour has gone so far left even the 70s hippies look capitalist.

No doubt we'll have the keep it POTUS brigade.

So why shouldn't we be self sufficient, I don't care about the oh it should be gradual BS, hard luck.

Why shouldn't every developed nation make as much as possible, you want cleaner and more efficient manufacturing don't you ?

Give your head a wobble.

Well shall we compare the most hippie of hippie capitalists Ben & Jerry of the ice-cream variety to Labour.

Fag paper difference, Vince Dale too.

The only left of centre mainstream party in the UK at the moment are the Lib Dems. Labour are a touch right of centre, Reform are hard right and the Conservatives just try to morph to wherever they feel they might be able to pick up votes.

Gareth, you cannot be seriously suggesting that you are centrist in your political outlook? I've got no idea where you live, or the community with which you interact. Perhaps in that context you are centrist, but in the political spectrum, you are one of the most unashamedly right wing people that I've interacted with here on Arbtalk; a forum that is right leaning anyway.

I've stated many many times I'm a pretty old school centrist small c conservate.

The way I look at it is L-R now.

Green - Liberal - New Labour - Conservative - reform mostly in the middle maybe a little right.

But there is no right-wing of old like the 70s labour party with the daft buggers of Corbyn salivating and calling for death to scabs and such.

Saying speak English could be a hate crime! I don’t like bashing the police, but this clip makes that...

When you see lunacy like this and the amount of people being prosecuted for online posts, maybe Trump and Vance are not far off the mark about freedom of speech being eroded in the UK 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️” a hate crime” it makes 1984 seem sensible.

?? What happened there then? I was fully expecting to pause for lunch to find JohnsonD all over the shop how the New York Cabbies are singing nothing but praise for The Trump, that the shops are adorned with MAGA bunting, Times square ticker is showing news we don't get here how Trump is solving humanitarian crisis and wars around the world. And then we get a post attacking the UK government?

Perhaps real Americans need educating to your view that The Rapist is actually a fantastic man, one to have over for dinner so long as you don't mention his rapes, bankruptcies, world leading number of impeachments, tanking his besties Tesla stock, and then all stocks, and the cronyism to make his pals billions at the cost of the ordinary '401k' holders. So long as you avoid that he'd be great to have for dinner... oh, I'd also not invite the wife or kids though.

And the centre mark is the gap Liberal - Labour

Centrist.... you should tell your fingers this because the way you type your posts to be honest are doing your core values a disservice.

Small c isnt doing any disservice to any of my beliefs or opinions.

What's wrong with wanting the state to operate with as little of my money as possible and be as self sufficient as possible?.

Same way as councils operated when they were local towns.

There's a fag paper between all 4, you couldn't even tell the difference between any except reform!.

Wilfully or not, you are missing the point that even Labour are now right of centre. Where does that put Reform?

Posted

New Labour under Kier aren't right of anything, all three are equally Left with wishy washy leftyness inaction.

Reform are more centre/a little right of centre.

Old labour pre tony was so right wing with blood lust, mad as a bag of frogs but you knew what was on the tin.
