You know there is one utterly sick twisted weak excuse of a man on this site who is obsessed with the putting the words “rape and children” in a sentence ( unless it’s Muslim rape gangs) and posting it. The same anonymous scum did it twice alluding to my daughters recently, we seem to be sliding back to his favourite words again.

Vermin; if only we had US style gun laws eh @Johnsond? But nevermind all that.

So Jihadi Johnsond, do you think homegrown steel or AI is more important to the hardworking British people just trying to get on in life? There's a question to test your mettle.

I'd say steel is more important. Pretty sure you'd agree, but are you man enough to admit it?

there's no reason some of our computer scientists can't continue to lead on AI

we need both heavy industry and emerging technologies, obviously industry is more labour intesive, providing more jobs, but welding etc will become increasingly robotised.

Sir Demis Hassabis (born 27 July 1976) is a British artificial intelligence (AI) researcher and entrepreneur. He is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Google DeepMind[8] and Isomorphic Labs,[9][10][11] and a UK Government AI Adviser.[12] In 2024, Hassabis and John M. Jumper were jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their AI research contributions for protein structure prediction.[13][14]

Sometimes even our own navy ships have been built abroad for the sake of saving.

You'll be heartened to hear that our new type 26 frigates are being built on Clydeside.

What he isn't doing of course is looking at the causes of the issue, closing the borders is just building up a pressure on the southern side... and like all dams it will burst. The rich nations, if we don't want migration, need to work out how to stop people leaving in the first place and not standing at the borer like Gandalf "You shall not pass". No he hasn't cut immigration, he has paused it for a couple of years, and it will return.... problem hasn't been solved or even worked on.

besmirching

Half the worlds poor streaming across the border? Perhaps a google search would show otherwise though this is just me being arsy and semantics.besmirching

need to work out how to stop people leaving in the first place - Trump has done this by making them realize there's no point leaving their home country to make their way to the southern border, because they will be removed immediately. Yes if the Democrats get in and decide to open the floodgates there will be, perhaps not half the world's poor, but as many as can make the journey. Tens of millions from south america alone.

To address this thing besmirching Trump for associating with Epstein - all I've seen of Epstein's conviction is for soliciting sex with a minor - can you show us some news stories where you read about just how bad a child rapist Epstein was? I'm sure you said something like he raped 12 year olds? Have you actually read news reports that specifically mention the ages of girls and that he was prosecuted for raping them?

So rather than constant accusations - how about compile your references?

I don't know either way, but you seem to think you know the ins and outs (poor phrasing) of Epstein's crimes in great detail.

He meant people leaving the rich nations.

sorry - your posts are normally coherent and intelligent, but you've lost me here.

I was highlighting Trump's success at stopping illegals at the southern border. How many of those arriving at the border are from Denmark, UK, Australia, Singapore?

Steven was talking about people leaving the rich nations, leaving behind jobs that somebody needs to do, which attracts people from other countries to come to the rich countries to do those jobs.

Example:

Edmund leaves his job as a butler to go to Nepal, where he intends to live as a goat.

George, Edmund's former employer, now needs a new butler.

Abdul, who has recently washed up on the beach at Folkestone in a large bottle, becomes George's new butler.

You were talking about how to make Abdul stay in his home country in the first place.

I took Steven's quote to mean - stop people leaving in the first place (leave from poor (e.g Mexico, Venezuela and travel to rich (US).

Regardless of what SP meant - Trump has sorted that one thing, for now. Maybe only a temporary fix, but even the Earth is temporary over a long timespan.
