Not sure on reach Connor but its got four extensions , no electrics and can pick up four ton at full stretch. Its 28ton mtr but punches well past whats good for it or the truck, it will pull the truck over if you are not careful. Used it to dismantle a few trees and because it slews 360 degrees you can work it off the front of the lorry which is a lot easier in some cases than trying to get alongside.

4 ton. That's a serious piece of kit. The one I'll be using has four extensions and 360 aswell.. on a remote too so more electrics than I would like for myself, but as it ain't mine so I'm happy to use it. Fixing it would be way beyond me! I reckon this one would pull the truck over too. Theres a self limiter once you go over the cab it slows it down and beeps annoyingly.

Gurt rainwater harvesting tank turned up at the yard yesterday instead of being delivered straight to the job. :banghead:

Made by Graf , never used them before but they really are HD, must be nearly 15mm thick judging by the weight.

Why the fancy shape?  Is it to do with structural strength?

Not so much as it is but when laid on wet concrete, filled with water to stop it swimming and then covered in concrete its basically just a load of arches, the two holes in the middle then become stanchions.

Another tank turned up today, this one is for 15000lts of reserve hydrant water.

15,000 litres of reserve hydrant water, how's that work. Is it on a private supply?

It’s miles from the nearest hydrant :egg: and the owner is paranoid after the last house burned down, marsh made this as a special with a 110 mm outlet for the pumping equipment.

If that's coming off a water authority hydrant is there going to be an air break or double check valve to stop any chance of the stored water returning back into the water main?

Or is that there just to buy time until someone can get to the hydrant and open it?

... and then the penny finally dropped! It'll fill, have some sort of ballcock arangement, and only fill again if water is drawn from the tank?

Its being piped inline with all the rainwater run off :egg:, all the soakaway water will go through this big tank which will then when full overflow into a rainwater harvesting tank and only what's left over will actually go into a soakaway. Between the two tanks there will be 2500ltrs for garden watering and the 15000 ltrs will always be held back for the emergency hydrant use.
