Last time I was talking to a tree surgeon about biomass, he was storing it in his yard till he got a wagon or a tractor trailer full (big trailer) before he sent it for biomass. If they are out of their usual area a return to the yard and back can cost more that what they get for it, or if they don't have a suitable yard to store that quantity - he wasn't sure a biomass place would accept half a transit load at a time... so back to it being a waste product - to some - unless they spend the hours making firewood... where as the bigger money is working on the trees themselves - so in some cases the finances make sense to use a local tip site.

Importing a Greenmech CM200MT40 into France

It’s going to be a ballache to end all ballaches. When I imported the TW I needed an EORI number, an inspection from Defra or someone to ensure it didn’t have any diseases on it and something else to do with VAT. I got an expert to sort the importation for me. Don’t try and sneak it through, I got pulled out immediately and the paperwork scrutinised, they seemed surprised and disappointed that it was in order. As for the registration…good luck. - Today

Please ring/text or email before tipping as the site is actually in Blisland. any wood accepted no woodchips. Rings/ lengths. If local I can actually pick up myself with either Pickup or tractor and trailer.

I believe the waste wood market is changing. Some firms are paying for rubbish wood as chippable biomass.

After being on the forum I took on board the great advice and didn't give up hope.I began to nuture the remaining tree and it worked. But it grew back. Nature is powerful. Just want to thank all the helpful advice 👍👍👍 Yours J

Hello Matt , if you could email me at : [email protected] With the serial number of your chipper i can look it up in the Master Records. It should be three numbers followed by a letter. Jase. -
Not all all ,I can tell u its the same mostly where ever I've worked .. Tree surgeons don't get it ,the quicker your off site the more money you make, they less chance you will be done for overloading in a 3.5 tonner . In respect to a so called valuable commodity, that's pointless, until logs are cut ,split , dried , delivered and monies are in your hand ,its worth f all, also don't forget the wear and tear of a saw ,just to log up oversized timber .. then going to get the shit to start with . Or may be tree surgeons need to stick with oversized bushes rather than proper trees that other firms can handle .

See my last paragraph above. I just watched that badtard Biscuit cat kill one of the 2 surviving Moorhen chicks, that had started to come out onto the lawn to feed with the the parents. With my own eyes. Fornicator! And I mean just immediately after I had fed him his lunch. But there are other semi feral cats hunting our ground so I suppose no particular point in blaming Biscuit in particular.

Hi All I ap0ologise if ive posted this in the wrong place Im planning to bring a lovely old Lister powered MT40 to France and wanted to ask any of their experiences with older machines and getting a carte grise for them There re two issues I am chewing over at the mo No 1 is getting it road registered here as anything over 500kg needs its own registration Specifically its a question of conformity (certificate of Conformity CoC) to EU standards for the chassis/trailer on which the chipper is built Ive asked Greenmech in the UK and France and the are struggling to help since back when the machine was built they did not get CoC Ultimately I might have to do it as a unique process through the DREAL (organisation responsible for road compliance) So if anyone has any info about tow hitch and brakes fitted perhaps I can check ot the manufacturers and ask them for details of UK compliance as background for the DREAL process Any thoughts comments would be great? No2 is importation, has anyone imported a chipper into France, and particularly such an old machine that is second (don't know how many hand actually) Do I just take it to the DUANE at the port of entry, or can I start the process before so they already know I'm coming? Again any thoughts? Matt
