Reading this, I would tend to agree with the conclusion - should be rejecting violence as an answer - noting that the previous 3 or 4 presidents set out statements this week condoning the attack, imploring this sentiment - the current presidents tone was very very different - he thrives on divisive politics, 'Us vs Them' works well for him but pushes the extremes both ways.. and the further apart the left and right become then more people will decide that direct action such as this is the only solution. No, divisive politics doesn't work... and instead should be working together to go for a common goal that is not "they are bad, they support the opposing party", but perhaps "we are all people, lets all be the best people that we can".

Imagine this scenario... Dodgy company hires an apprentice - lets say an older one, 21 so no issued with needing closer supervision that a 16 year old might, new to the industry, is trained in the dodgy practices. Lets say for argument that the apprentice is cheaper than an experienced operator - dodgy company. Apprentice knows nothing, knows not what precautions to take, and no one could expect them to know... so Emergency stops are fitted to machines.

If you can split them and then let them dry that is better - smaller pieces will dry quicker

Carl, it sounds to me like you're bright and above average fitness for your age. That's worth a lot. I think, given what you've said, you'd make a good groundy trial/impression, for any local Arb business, and pick up work, easily enough. I also suspect you'd do equally well starting tree climbing too, if already climbing on rock.. IF you are lucky enough, to find someone willing to pay/subsidise your climbing training costs? As has been said: Joiners, tilers, brickies etc all make good/better regular outdoor earnings, with less or similar outlay -and much less risk of injury, though... I'm still loving climbing a couple of days a week, at 60 myself -but, honestly and hypocritically- I'd be unsure, as the boss, about training up someone only a few years younger than me, to do this work full-time ? Unless you showed great aptitude..

if insults are 1 to 10 with 1 harmless and 10 the worst, maybe that can be given a score of 6.5

So are you saying that some bloke working for a dodgy company got scapled and that was the reason that chipper manufacturers had to fit stop switches?
-
It was a stupid contractor (a bloke with long hair not scraped up) that caused the first change .I'm not complacent with chippers or chainsaws but I respect them and take precautions.the company that had the accident were known to cut corners ..enough said

Haha. The truth. They don't like it up em.

Trump rages at NATO to stop buying Russian oil in bid to end Ukraine war APPLE.NEWS President Donald Trump has raged at the leaders of Nato to stop buying Russian oil - indicating he will not... He’s not far wrong unfortunately.
-
I wasn't impressed by Charlie Kirk's performance at the Oxford Union - too much up Trump's arse. And that bit in support of the Jan 6 mob. However that snippet in the link you posted where he's talking to Ben Shapiro shows Kirk in a different light - in that one as he asked about ethnic cleansing claims in Gaza you could see he was obviously a supporter of Israel, but not someone who felt Israel should just be allowed to do anything in Gaza. Maybe the wealthy jewish donors were trying to use him as a mouthpiece, and he was pushing back.

The big rally in London today. I expect there will be snippets online before long

Gotcha. Question wasn’t loaded however you thought it was btw.

Or a 35m rope. 😮

Plus I only got my Pink CE Marked RRPro 2 months ago. I was climbing on the non CE version since it came out. Plus the three other versions of the RR I still have in the truck.
-
Alex, CE marking has nothing to do with it. Come on, you have met me. I am not a conformist. If it works, and I like climbing on it, I use it. When it wears out I use something else. I have had the BDB a long time, probably over 10 years. It is worn out and on an ok piece of tachyon I use for scabby spruce trees. But the rope has a lot of sap in it so Inise something else.

They supplied a new spark unit for my 395XP in a trice ! 😀

Or ... Chipped up a plastic snow shovel 😀

Sorry, I forgot that we are all knocking on a bit. I'll keep the result to myself then. 😄

People make mistakes though. It's the reason that we have chain brakes and chainsaw trousers and boots. You make a mistake with a chipper and you've lost a limb at best.
-
Where did you see that Steve?

Yeah, you may need to dial down the drama a bit there, some of us have weak hearts.

I'm going for a 2. I've got 3 and 4 correct and the first letter is in the wrong place. I'm thinking 1 should go in 5th and I've got two ideas on the complete word. Wish me luck. Regards The last bender.

It’s not for them to source a generic part cheaper to help you out. They phone the supplier of the machine, who sends the part, along with the invoice.
