  1. Past hour
  2. There was a lot about like you say, old lad down Rd at a farm who is sadly no longer with us had a Norbsa mid 50s wideline with a A7 500 twin copled to a rrt2 box I allways thought it looked and sounded well,, I went to a bike show with my dad in late 70s and saw this bike that consisted of wheels frame forks engine single seat rear sets clip ons and a 5 gallon ally tank that said triton on it and I thought I going to own one of them one day so the one above was purchased in 93 from a old guy in melton Mowbery for the grand sum of £1200 so not a bad investment ??.
  3. Ask a simple question 🤷‍♂️😂
  4. No one asked for any personal info at all or pictures etc etc I asked the names of the ships he served on, in particular any that may have come out of Swan Hunters. Talk about read something from nothing. No need for you to be guessing on anyone’s behalf. There wasn’t really any point as such in the question nor any need for a random name to be thrown in or for it becoming a pissing contest of who’s been where and to what port or pub. My guess is: If you show the picture to your mate and he was on the same boat he'll be able to work out who he is and likewise with the list of places, find common ground! Evidently he doesn't feel like giving everyone on an open forum all of his personal info, but was hoping to satisfy some of your curiosity. Your guess is biased shite from start to finish. Not a single part of it is relevant. Giving the name of a ship you served on is hardly personal information. If you are gonna try and have a dig randomly ffs up your game lad.
  5. Not today but last wk, fitted a new hydraulic to tractor and finally splashed out on a new timber grab, totally transformed the whole outfit, lifts better and grips logs better, had 4 days extracting with it and loved every minuet of it,,

  7. I conquered Mt Everest.
  8. That's just beautiful, I can remember when rows of them would be lined up outside various venues, before taking off somewhere for the customary "burn up" there was one I knew with the DBD34 and rrt2 box, it was real nice and fast too, but he got quite a bit of stick for "ruining a Goldie"
  9. 🤷‍♂️All that effort and still not a single name just a list of random places and shite bit like you bragging about your shooting exploits.
  10. Like this one,, one of the first Norton widelines 1954 fitted with a 1953 all alloy triumph tiger 100 motor and box, mate has one but a bit different than mine, 1958 wideline with a modern triumph 955i motor fitted and he says its good for 150mph but dernt take it any further,,

    Jokes???

  13. Frankenbikes were popular back then, triton, tribsa, trifield,Villiers bantams, even Ariel Arrow bantams, Harley 45 in any frame you could squeeze it into, various engines in the wideline Norton frame, Ariel square 4, The famous Egli Vincent Even Ariel got in on it with the 650 Huntmaster/ BSA collaboration. At one time I had a 250 AJS, and discovered the 350 looked to the inexperienced eye exactly the same, for a short while my "250" was quicker than all the others, until word got out.
  14. Aye, but there has to be a line. I might well have crossed one as I had no idea who he was, and plenty of people did. I think that's testament to the the fact I can be crass. But mostly it's testament to the fact that the organisations that run social media (not you Steve) have us in their sights. Why would I even know of the existence of Charlie Kirk? His content doesn't show up on a libtard's playlist. This is the problem. We all have common ground. We should use it.
  15. Said it before, I will doubtless say it again. " I disagree totally with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". If an admin shuts something down, they're a censor. If they don't, they're not doing their job. Damned if you do.............................................
  16. Oh yeah, Egmond en zee, Mobile and Pensacola...and Tappanzee.
  17. Amongst other bikes I have fond memories of owning a YZ125. It was a water cooled bike back in the late 80's.It did get me into a bit of trouble though! I looked to buy one a few years ago and there where a few about but at some ridiculous prices! Aye one still own a motocrosser? Or should I say a scrambler.
  18. No you edited. You need to ask nicely then... ... like I said... ...relevant one has been, what's the point? D88, F89, F173, F174, do you need dates i joined and left? MEO's names, Chief stoker's sea daddies names, killick of the mess/Jimmy the ones names on each one, which mess, official number? How about run ashores? Columbo, Karachi, Manama, somewhere in the UAE, Djibouti, Athens, Charlie's hole in the wall bar Gib, Lisbon and Estoril, Brest, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Den Helder, Hamburg, Bremen, Copenhagen, Oslo, Tromso, somewhere in the Kola inlet/Barents sea (no run ashore but a visit to the Arctic ice sheet an incident with the Admiral Isakov), Halifax NS, St John NB, Noo Yoyk, Charleston, W Palm Beach, Ft Lauderdale, Bermuda, Funchal, Freeport, Nassau, Andros, Road town BVI, I didn't get off at Ascension but we was there, Port Stanley (the Globe) and West Falkland. Might have missed a few but hey,it's been a while.
  19. Spent a couple of days this week working with a mate over in Cognac. Four conifers to remove, two Atlas cedar and two Spanish fir. They had been topped out in the past due to the risk of lightning strike, the region is flat and these trees are the highest thing on the horizon. Two had serious damage/delamination from recent strikes, a bit iffy on the climb as the crown on the largest Cedar would twist left and right as each limb was removed. All brash chipped, saw log cut to 3.4m for the mill to uplift next week and see what is salvageable. The gardener sent some drone footage of Nico up the tree. 20. This is my current steed, on a trip round Ireland earlier this year.
  21. I am wondering whatever happened to @WoodED is he still out there?
  22. I never said that your Trakmet was a hobby mill, I said you was a hobby miller. Nice bike. 👍
  23. Dayton Albatross. My brother got that Villiers engine from said scooter, and nearly got it fitted into something I forget what. Mine had elements of a 14/4, but it didn't start life as that. It was somewhat of a Frankenstein, I seem to remember.
  24. The only one of relevance to swans I have named, what is it you want? Second question, Davy is the one next to me. This is around 70 of the ships company at our 40th anniversary LTBAD at the ship anson in Portsmouth, I'm behind the camera somewhere. One more time, what's your point?
