  1. Past hour
  2. My horizontal anvil sheared off and spat itself out the chute, is there anything you would recommend replacing while I have it stripped? I was looking to see online where the anvil goes etc but I’m a bit lost. If anyone has done this or has pictures it would be fantastic. This is the current shape I have it sitting in

    Jokes???

  7. Looks identical to the treehog, same sticker, spec and everything at half the price. Thanks for that, ordered a few. My oldest e2e prussik is starting to wear out and wont hold me without extra wrap, then the friction is a bit too much. Took Fedex quite a while but 5th free battery arrived.
  8. The one I mentioned on the first page, originally cut Nov 2023 but last week inspected and trimmed to the banch collar. It was weeping before but the previous rain had washed it off for this pic. I got a fresh pic today. This is the bend that I assume snapped when it was young. Did a reasonable amout this afternoon, not started the back corner yet but happy with the house side.
  9. But don't let piles of school kids in to get the numbers up.
  10. something I've never done unless it was going to the pub. alcohol doesn't relax me, just makes me more hyper !
  11. Fully AGREE STUB 😁
  12. Sounds perfect to me steve follow it down with a couple of evening beers
  13. Were it will be held would will be your major problem, getting people to turn up. All trade stands would need people noing what they are taking about nothing worse than someone how nose nothing about what you are both looking at.. You can advertise as much as you want but people may not turn up, like a demo day held by a dealer a couple of weeks ago, I spent 2 hour talking to greenmech and husqvarna reps with no one else turning up in that time.
  14. @sime42, Thank you for your feedback, These are very interesting points that are not spoken about enough.
  15. Were you the same size?
  16. Mostly whether I'd get into the knickers of Mandy, my big sister's friend.
  17. Luxury ! πŸ™‚
  18. Judging by questions that come up on here frequently. Tree vicinity to houses, wrt structural damage. Tree health problems e.g. diseases, fungal attack. Chainsaw and other machinery maintenance and tuning.
  19. IHOPEY

    Steventon

Starting a no dig area in the garden, to do this i need shredded / chipped wood which i will use as a mulch to stop weeds growing.
  20. @AHPPThanks very much for this, it is great insight into what would make a show great for this community. The plan would be to have, adequate signing for all talks/demos along with a physical show guide outlining the timing and who will be speaking ect, is there anything else that you would find helpful for this? With the talks/demonstrations and workshops, we would love to have the highest quality of knowledge being shared, do you have any recommendations that you could put me in touch with? I also really like the idea of the roaming mic and making it as interactive as possible. (It would be great to have a gazebo so we dont get rained on!🀣) Another person has mentioned rigging gear and demos, so I think it would be a perfect fit!
  21. Wood, and somewhere to build a decent fire at the adjacent campsite.
  22. Big signs showing what's on, where and when. No fcking app or QR code to scan for interactive virtual bollocks. Food and drink reasonably priced. The low brow cycnicism of being pumped Β£14 for a burger as a captive market honestly stops people coming. Extremely high quality talks/demonstrations/workshops. No generalist sales rep reading from a brochure. No fat office wallah wasting your life with a powerpoint that might have conned a wildlife trust but doesn't actually say anything. Proper experts, talking details. Vet and discriminate. Extremely high quality only. Good classroom environment. Maybe a gazebo with a side open so people can be under shelter, looking out to an outside demo but able to check a board or paperwork in the dry as it goes along. One mic for teacher and one floating round the crowd for questions. Podcast it? I'm particularly interested in arb rigging so, for that, a selection of trees including spready-crowned hardwoods. Trees getting cut and roped. The ability to get close to see well and have a go.
  23. @Mark Bolam. A good bar i think is very essential and live demos are important to keep arborists up to date with new products and technology as well as educate them.
  24. @Steve Bullman. Excellent points, I think it is key to have free entry so arborists have more money to spend on new equipment. Food and Drink is also important as most exhibitions charge ridiculous amounts for food and drink. Live demos are essential to keep arborists entertained and educated. very good points thank you soo much for your feedback!
  25. Good beer and food as said. Stock more lager, Guinness and cider, and less Badgers Olde Fartdodger. Cash or card. Quick course climbing comps. No one wants to see some fat old bloke crawling round a tree for 35 minutes to prove he’s still got it. Working demos of rigging gear. No plant/machinery over Β£100k. No slicked back hairstyles / tracksuits with Barbour gilets / thieves.
