really random queston but has anybody counted how many logs are in a cubic meter , as i have a cilent who insists knowing how many logs she would get from a cubic meter ! dont you love customers !

it depends on the size of the log, might be 250 big logs or 500 small logs

Had a customer counting the logs in my hilux (1.2 cbic metre) , he counted 358, obviously this depends on the size of the logs. Personally i love customers, they pay my bills:001_smile:

I havn't and to be honest this sounds like a Customer you don't want.

I think I would be tempted to just take her number and lose it! Alternatively and more positively if she is not out of your way or you are going by let her have a look at what she gets for the money.

 

Suspect the answer will be about 3-400 but I ain't counting them!

i think a guy round here did a competition of how many logs in a cubic metre sack and i think the answer was 382 odd, so as people have said 3-400 or depends how long you cut them and if the back has been shaken

Give him/her the price for the cube and then move on, cutting and logging timber is hard enough without trying to keep account of how many logs are on each load.

 

If your anything like alot of the lads/lasses on here you will run out of seasoned wood before the end of the winter anyway.

There was a member on here who sold their logs by exact number, can't remember who they were, but they just counted them onto the transport vehicle.

 

They had been doing it that way for a few generations I seem to recall

I think the reason people want to know how many logs are in your load is because they have been buying them in nets/bags etc and know exactly how many logs they are getting per£1. They work out how many they are getting from you and if its worth it. GRIN, COUNT,SMILE AND TAKE THEIR MONEY.

Just tell them that logs are an organic product and so the number of logs in a cubic metre will vary
