Hello there! We are a friendly allotment site whose members are currently desperate for woodchip. We offer payment of a box of biscuits Woodchip is used for for many things on our site, including: paths, weed suppressing, and sustainable growing practices which include using it as a soil cover to prevent water evaporation (which then reduces water use and so helps us all to be more environmentally friendly) We would be grateful if you could share any free woodchip with us as we are always in need of it (particularly so at the moment as our members are all very busy getting prepared for the 2023 growing season!) If you are able to drop then please call beforehand and one of our committee members who live locally will come and let you in the gate Many thanks and we look forward to hearing from you.

We have the facility to accept a decent size flat bed straight onto the drive and can be unloaded/dumped with ease. We will process and dry ourselves. Will happily pay £20+ for a decent load and refill tea and coffee flasks if required. Always available, all day 7 days a week. Only reason for call ahead is so I can unlock the gates.

Hi I'm new to using ArbTalk and would like some advice on how to best list on TipSites. We have land in Wanstrow (Somerset) and will be planting 10,000+ trees in 2022 and want to use woodchip as mulch as much as possible. I'd therefore like to list on TipSite to start collecting it. However, I want to understand, from an Arb point of view, how the site works. If I list a new site, will regular users of free dumping sites even notice my new advert? Do most of you know where you can dump chip for free and then never use it again? Also if you do regularly check it, how do I make my advert stand out? There looks like an option to offer to pay you to drop. Do any of you use that to search for sites? If so, what price would attract you to dump at my site than the one you usually use? Many thanks Pete

The address is Sinnott Road Allotments on Gurney Close. The entrance is at the large green gates. If nobody is on site please call me for access to the site. Please leave the chips to the far right of the car park, opposite the main building. Please try to avoid blocking any access paths or tipping on to any allotment plots.

Looking at opening up as a tip site and looking for advice. what Licences etc do you need and anything else to be aware of? Majority will be used as bedding through the winter then put into the slurry lagoon. Access etc is great and can easily take arctic wagons so that side is all good.

Morning Ladies and Gentlemen. This is a dual request for two locations. Does anyone have a tip site they can recommend for a very small job in Leeds (LS19) Yeadon? It's a Silver Birch I am removing FOC for a friend and I am not quite sure if I can fit it all in my trailer. It's a 320 mile round trip from my home so if I can't drag all the arisings back in one go I'm a bit stuffed. I would like to broadcast the same request for Kidderminster (DY14) as I have been procrastinating about finding somewhere by using a mate's site closer to Birmingham but I need something more suitable closer to my own post code on an ongoing basis. Thanks everyone for taking the time to read and possibly comment. Kind regards John

We seem to be producing more chip than we can get rid of (for free) at the moment and I’m constantly looking for new tip sites. We have at least a transit van load a day, if not more and we have a few places that take the loads for free, but if we cannot find somewhere to tip (for free), we either dump it in our field (access is poor - can only just about get a transit down the track and around a sharp bend) or we have to take to somewhere like Colliers and pay to get rid which is quite pricey! I’m interested to hear how others in the industry manage their chip. What do you do with it and is there another way of making a profit from such a sort after material? Thanks in advance, Sophie

Hi, I have posted on Arbtalk about our tip site a few times. We are an arable farm that is EA permitted to take green waste and chip/logs. We are now calling ourselves Cheshire Green Waste and a website will follow later in the year. There is no charge for tipping good quality chip and logs (but must be separated). Once you register with us you can drop in our large tip yard whenever you want. Our address is Tanyard Farm, Castle Mill Lane, Ashley, Cheshire WA15 0QT. We are minutes from junction 6 of the M56. Email me at [email protected] Mobile: 07535 025888 Richard

Does anyone know of a composting/recycling center for green waste, chip and logs in the Folkstone area? Am doing a one-off for extended family and I could really do with not taking it back the 100 miles to home!
