  1. Greetings everyone! A sapling, green-shoot, Arbtalk Newbie here. Wanted to jump on and introduce myself, Hi 👋 I’m Mike and I run a small, firewood business called Verrington Firewood, supplying processed logs to in South Somerset, Dorset and the surrounding area. I’m looking to build up the business this year and take on more customers. Which means I’ll be needing more wood. I’m looking for any help, advice or suggestions. We are lucky to have a large Dutch barn on site with plenty of space and good access. It’s just me and my incredible partner, Sarah, usually with the unwanted help from Pip & Max, our Cockapoo and Old English Sheepdog. I’ve set up a profile with a Tip Site and would like to invite any of you guys who are working in the South Somerset/Dorset areas to consider us when you’re looking for a place to offload any hardwood/softwood cords. Coffee machine is always on. 😉 Looking forward to getting to know you all. Mike & Sarah

Easy access farm house on a rural business park, conveniently located just off the A370 near to junction 21 of the M5. Primarily looking for firewood but also happy to occasionally take some wood chip for garden paths etc. Happy to provide payment/beer tokens if the drop is worth it. Always available as I work from home. Even when I'm not in then 99 times out of a 100 there will be another family member available. Ideally, please call or knock at the door of the big white farm house on site for directions on exactly where to drop or help to unload if needed. This will also ensure high chance of beer tokens as a result. Happy to take wood chip but that needs to go in the second walled garden (not the one directly in front of the house). There is a side gate for vehicle access although tight for manoeuvring between fruit trees. As for wood\logs, we are happy to take anything and process down. Again the final destination for seasoning wood store is the walled garden but we are happy to accommodate a drop anywhere close to the farmhouse as long as it isn't blocking access. Thanks in advance, Pete & family.

  19. Hello all, new to the forum. I am looking for a load of hardwood cord wood, doesn't have to be seasoned, just wood that I can cut and split myself as I sell firewood to family and friends and am low on stock. Based near Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire
  20. Looking for someone to remove a good few tons of timber from site in Brombough, Wirral. Felled about 24 good size conifers over the weekend. Cut to various sizes but all manageable. Can Access via driveway With double gates leading to rear garden or alternatively someone with log grab and trailer via main road directly behind.

Preferably logs and roots for a wood burner in our house. We have a splitting maul and a hand axe, anything big enough to require a chainsaw is too big.
  24. You can tip on the front lawn if I’m not there or better if I’m around it can be tipped in the field behind I can take multiple loads.
  25. Hello, In our Nursery and Forest School we will gladly accept woodchip, long or short logs of all sizes and any wide trunk cross sections as we use them as seats. Our Forest School areas always need a top up of woodchip, as we use eco methods for weed control etc. and around the playground equipment. Access will need to be arranged through Liam the site supervisor either through email or telephone. Drop off behind the big blue gates (next to Stags Head Pub) on Orsman road between 4pm and 6pm Monday to Friday as our carpark will be empty at that time of the day. In exchange we can offer cups of tea, coffee and biscuits. If a regular agreement between us comes to fruition then we could potentially pay per m3.
