Hi all - I'm looking for a bit of extra work in / around Walton-On-Thames area. Don't mind travelling a bit but not too far. Contract climbing or groundwork. I'm a fully qualified arborist over from New Zealand. Full climbing kit and PPE with me. Own vehicle and I'll be picking up a saw or 2 soon. Have NZ tickets from basic chainsaw operation and maintenance, climbing and aerial rescue through to advanced rigging and close approach utility (powerline) work. Experience doing a large range of work from residential pruning and removals to large scale land clearance, commercial work and utility arb. In 2014 they acquired another large housing association based in south east London who had a substantial land holding and with this a large tree stock. The grounds maintenance and tree works are undertaken using an in-house team. They are currently looking to recruit an Arborist Supervisor and Senior Arborists (Lead Climbers) who want to be part of a growing team with the opportunity to mould and develop the service and want a career with long term prospects and stability Reporting to their depot in Thamesmead, these roles will involve working as a Lead Climber, undertaking pruning, dismantling and other hands on arboricultural work for the majority of the time. In addition the Supervisor will be required to be hands on and organise and record work completed, liaise with residents and other members of the public Candidates should be NPTC qualified and competent climbing arborists with a good knowledge of all tree work operations and practices. Previous experience of leading a team of staff is required for the Supervisory role. In return they are offering a salary of circa £30,000 ( 16.48 per hour ) for the Supervisor and circa £26000 ( £14.29 per hour ) per annum for the Lead Climber *Salary is negotiable for the right candidates 35 hour week. Tree Canopy Climb, a business of 13+ years in the Barnsley, South Yorkshire area, are looking for a full time grounds-person and a weekend sub-contracting climber. 90% of our work is based in the Barnsley area and I am based in Darton just off Junction 38 of the M1. Monday - Friday is all the 2 man jobs with me + grounds person. The weekends are reserved strictly for the larger tree jobs working Saturdays and Sundays (rarely). Grounds-person will be expected to get to the garage at 7AM Mon-Fri and same time Saturdays when working. Experienced is good but also someone very keen with some experience is OK with the opportunity to put through a full apprenticeship scheme with Askham Bryan on a 9-week block release basis.
