  1. well i don't know the saw but i have had issues with others where the decomp button was leaking when i put a new button in mine ran sweet again just a thought . you could test this by the old washing up liquid trick .
  2. also if you are mix and matching between pump and alkylate with these modern saws with auto tune or m tronic you might find you need to let the saw reset between fuel's .
  3. from what i have read on some of the petrol forums and been told by small engine mechanics avoid the ethanol fuel as it causes damage in small engines even seen some car engines burnt up from it ( older engines ) remember the shell formula running like 3 star and burning up valve seats .
  4. i also hear that Husqvarna are developing a solar powered saw at the moment its is undergoing field testing in the uk which i must admit has had more than its usual 3 days of sun this year .
  5. on the question of how many times do i sharpen a chain well i touch it up as required you can tell by the chips (good) /sawdust (bad) , but as for actualy sharpening only when i have fooked it on a nail or the ground . and for wood types just think pine is custard and oak is brick which one would hurt your hand the most trying to chop it ?
  6. can i take it that this is only going to be any good on full chisel chain ?
  7. just put Oregon 73 LPX into ebay and there is loads on there
  8. or if you know a good welder ask him to weld it and then grind flat . i have filled 1/2 inch holes by welding before .

    New saw help

as previously said by many get the best you can afford . But my thoughts are go to a dealer that has different brands in and handle them rotate them .if possible try them as a saw that gives you back ache is just a pain. as far as battery i would avoid them why well because there isnt enough service and repair people out there yet . a good tip for long storing a petrol saw = drain the fuel and run it dry . good hunting chap.
  21. i have run and still run a efco mt3700 as my second saw 37cc 16in bar works well, but as said wouldn't want to run it as a pro all day may be the reason i upgraded to a husky 560xp for the big jobs . and to the gent that said the the ollly was chinese well all i can say is the efco ones were from italy .
  22. didnt know it tasted like curry & chips 😆
  23. makes me laugh all these green warrior's thinking ethanol saves the world . dont they realise that it takes more "bad fuel " to make a 1L of ethanol fuel buy the time you have gone through the processed from start to finish . lets see how much "bad fuel" it takes to plant the sugar crops then harvest them then transport to the refinery just as a start .
  24. why do you think i stuck with huskys ?
