  1. Your more than welcome, glad I could help. Steve
  2. Hello OSM Just checked, this is the one I have. Would it suit? Can measure the parts for you if unsure? Steve
  3. Hi guys, I have a spare stihl one as shown above. If you want it just fire me a pm with your address and I will post it.
  4. Something @spuddog0507 has drummed into me. Quite surprising the amount of grip/control lost when not tucking the thumb under.
  5. Got one of these too. Was handy for the lawnmower as it felt underpowered, so called dealer had it at 2300rpm, rather than the 3100 it was meant to be. Also used it on blower and multi tool. Decent enough for my needs and uses.
  6. husky 545mk2? can be had for £500 with a 15" bar
  7. Its some chinese multi tool attachment
  8. I may have a pole saw attachment going spare shortly, as its not getting much use these days. Its 10" bar with brand new oregon chain on it. If memory serves its 9spline, but you can get adapters on fleabay. Steve

    Santa .

Merry Christmas to all on Arbtalk, busy day for me today, as I'm a chef, (just starting to learn about Arb things) 2am start for me this morning. Now sat with some nibbles, tv films on, chilling with the other half and our springer's. It's our Christmas meal tomorrow. Santa brought me a Husky 545mk2🙂 Edit I'm a chef in care setting, and our residents have had a crap 2 year with lockdowns and restrictions on visits etc. With the new media hype the company has restricted visits to protect residents, so we had to make it extra special for them today. I left a 4pm, and they were all merry, and enjoyed their day, and that's a great feeling to have. This was the menu....
  10. Is that an 18" on it Jamie?
  11. Just had a wee look and found this.....
  12. QUB Chainsaw Research Survey (surveymonkey.co.uk) Link edited
  13. Thank you for your time tonight Gaz, I really appreciate it. Proper looking forward to a day's graft with you. Thank you for the offer🙂 Steve
  14. Mods, please delete/move if not allowed. Im based in Preston Lancs Im looking for someone willing to give me some training/experience on chainsaw use. I had the chance to help a customer on mine (in audio visual) clear his land and fell quite a few trees. After some advice I have said no to this, and he is bringing in specialists to level the area, but has agreed to leave me about 5 ton of logs for me to go up, and cut/split as I require. I only have a husky 135mk2, but through the advice I have been given on this forum, have purchase a fully husky ppe kit and oregon boots, spare chains, file kit, split fuel tank, sharpening vice etc. I dont intend to become a pro, its mainly for chopping firewood, and possibly removing some trees at home. So if anyone is willing, im more than happy to be a labourer for you on some jobs given notice so i can book time off my main jobs (chef & av installer) in return for you to teach me some of your knowledge & experience in the art of chainsaw maintenance and use of said chainsaw (cuts snedding, bucking etc) Thanks for your time Steve PS - I have been using the saw at home, and getting to grips with it, keeping the 12-3 oclock of the nose clear to avoid kickback, checking my stance and control of the saw, checking tension, stripping and cleaning after use checking bar and chain, air filter, bar, oiler, nut and bolts. (so have leant a little bit)
  15. I think he is tagging someone, so that they get an alert. That someone knows quite a lot about Husqvarna chainsaws. So I think @Stubby is actually being a lot more useful that a handbrake in a canoe as you put it!
  16. Thats a pretty serious saw Sthil ms660? Im new to all this, but my take on it is PPE on, or no saw. I bought the husqvarna kit from WOP for £90, and they changed the chaps to trousers for me. Comes with gloves, helmet, ear defenders and face protection.
  17. Apologies to butting in here guys... I'm what you may call weekend warrior, diy home owner, or ****************wit. I came on this grand forum, and have received one heck of a lot of info from you guys, both on the boards and via pm. I have no intention in becoming a pro, but am very willing to learn anything I can on the safe use and maintenance of the saw I bought. I looked at doing Cs course but at £700 plus it's a fair few quid. As with most things, proper training and knowledge comes from people in the job with experience, so I was in two minds asking someone local to me to offer my services as a labourer for a day or two, in return for some training. Or am I just pissing in the wind? Ps, I have full ppe including boots, and don't use the saw without it. So hopefully not so much of a ****************wit.😊
  18. Looks like I found more firewood🤣🤣🤣🤣
  19. Hi Logdaft It just seemed easier to chick them in the trailer and do the cutting at home, where im supervised! As im just beginning I thought it better to have the logs supported in a clamp of sorts rather than cutting on the ground, as i would probably be cutting mud and knackering the chain. The leaf vac got rid of the sawdust which my neighbour wants for his bunny
  20. Thank you 🙂 I just didnt want to be the home owner buying some cheap saw and thinking that was all there was to it. Ok so its not a pro level saw, but its certainly better than what I was going to buy. I probably wouldnt have bought anything more than gloves and glasses had I not found this forum. (feel quite safe with all the gear on) I have been pointed to various videos on youtube about different cutting styles/how to avoid kickback, how to file a chain/how to maintain a saw. Its all been really useful, and has taught me quite a lot, and hopefully has opened my eyes to the dangers, some obvious, but some not.
  21. Combi can? It seemed a good item, can carry tools, chain, oil & fuel in one thing, rather than bag with bottles and tools. (its not going to have a hard life lol) We have a general "car type" kit, but had been looking at the clotting bandages and tourniquet also. Have seen some professional guys with kits on belts, but cant find them, or they look to be very basic with a few small bandages and plasters.
