  1. Yes you are correct, it was the report people that condemned the trees. but it was the council that insisted on the daft report giving the reason as being to "protect trees blah blah" Simply answer then is to remove the trees, job done then, not report needed or at least just one that says; "neighbours trees miles away" john..
  2. I understand you want to keep the trees, BUT, you cannot have everything.. The council will hold you to every single word of that report which will bankrupt you, AND, i thought the council had imposed a condition that the trees they deemed to be unsafe be removed before you even brought stuff onto the site.?? Do NOT rock the council's boat, or they will torpedo yours out of sight.. Just remove the trees, bin the report, get your house built and plant more trees if that is what you want.. john..
  3. Are you TRYING to make things difficult and expensive for yourself??? Just get the stupid report and chuck it in the bin It is the very LAST thing you want to give to the council.. [unless you like digging footings by hand] Do yourself a HUGE favour and cut the trees down.. You should be grateful the council have given you planning and stop trying to find things [at your expense mind you] to give to the council to use against you. You send that report to the council and they will seize on every word of it and you will next to bankrupt yourself.. Tell you what, you phone up a few building firms and tell them you want to have the footings dug by hand. Post back what their response is.. Best of it, you will be paying for some treehugger to stand and watch them.. You will run out of money before you have even got the footings in.. john..
  4. It says; "All excavations for the extension are to be undertaken manually under direct onsite arboricultural supervision" Whoever wrote that is an idiot. No reasonable person would expect you to dig all the footings by hand.. Secondly, why all this "root protection" nonsense for trees the planners have told you to remove?? These will be the worlds most expensive footings.. They are YOUR trees, no TPO's, so do yourself a BIG favour and just remove them.. [Just like the planners told you to] john..
  5. I had a Suzuki bandit. Was a bit tatty when i had it but i soon did it up a bit. Nice bike but the loud exhaust ruined it. What on earth people want loud bikes for is beyond me. You could not go far on it, the racket used to piss me off no end so i sold it.. It looked nice though and was VERY clean for a 16 year old bike.. john..
  6. Can you not just employ pikeys to simply drop the things, clear off and leave them where they are, Job done, deny all knowledge.. Or kill the things with diesel.. john..
  7. This may be of interest.. https://www.stjohnschambers.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Adverse-Possesion-Talk-Notes-Title.pdf john..
  8. Not sure i would listen to any advice written by a person that cannot spell "per se" correctly.. john..
  9. Thanks all, I notice that they have topped the thing, cutting off the main stem level with the top of the fence where the stem is about 3/4" diameter. Will this stop the thing growing taller?? john..
  10. Thank you very much!! What sort of size does a cherry tree grow?? Are they different to a "flowering cherry" ?? john..
  11. Hi all, My neighbours have gone and planted a tree about 6 inches from my boundary.. They planted one before that was about 8 or 9 feet tall, but just as i was going to speak to them they removed it, so happy days, sensible people i thought. Today i noticed that they have planted this thing instead. Any idea as to what it is?? Here are some photos.. Thanks all.. john..
  12. Hi Mark, Nothing!! I was just asking so as that if in the future i DO need something, i know where to get one!! Thank you for your reply though!! john..
  13. I really wouldn't know..
  14. Had to google who that was, but you get the idea, yes.. john..
  15. Yes, that is a good method, i agree, but i have a rather unfortunate medical condition related to ones goolies, that means that the very last thing you want to do, is to put something between your legs, then yank a rope attached to it!! john..
  16. I drop start all of mine, never done it any other way.. I pull out the rope until the sprags have engaged first and then drop start it as normal. Works for me.. john..
  17. Well, i did not mean your saws in particular, was just saying in general. Mind you, you did say that you had only had the Husqvarna going once. [and that it was hard to start] Nobody will buy a saw that takes 30 pulls to start.. Just put new fuel in them and run them for a bit and they should both go easily.. john
  18. Well, firstly i would say that you will never sell a saw that does not run. If you got them going i would imagine you would get £100 each though. john..
  19. I see.. and the chainsawbar people, do they have a presence here on the forum, what i mean is, is their owner or whatever a member?? john..
  20. Hi Mark, You an Echo dealer then?? john..
  21. I cleaned mine and i started with the air line but when i saw how thin the mesh was i thought it might tear it, so i just washed it as i said. I am with you on messing with the carb settings. Mine went a bit funny for a few days not long after i had it. The thing would stall when you went to rev it from tickover unless you opened the throttle really slowly. I was going to adjust the slow running screw and even bought the special tool, but then the thing saw my coming with the tool, ran properly, and has been faultless ever since.. john,,
  22. Yes, that is right, held up in the centre by a single nut and fibre washer as you say, The tubular nut screws up the brass centre post thingy [with the needle jet hole for the carb needle at its top end]. No throttle stop either, so when you stop at a junction you have to "catch" it and keep it running with the throttle. A 10E was only fitted to francis barnetts. They got villiers to churn them out specially. They were exactly the same as a 9E though apart from the cosmetic appearance of the side covers. The 11E was a modified 9E that was fitted to the invalid carriages. The 150 you have is called a 30C i think. A 150 with a 3 speed gearbox. My 9E [i have several of them] has the big brass flywheel as you say.. Here is another of my engines. This one is a 10E fitted to a stand i made to hold the things while i worked on them.. john..
  23. Steady on, that is like saying builders should ask the people next door if they mind them putting up an extension.. Besides, in the case of trees, once the thing has left your property, it is beyond your control what the neighbour does to it. YOU, should have kept it under control.. john..
