  1. At one point we had a rented TV from Martin Dawes, it took 50p pieces like the gas meter. I remember my Dad would have a big stack of 50p pieces on top of the TV when the snooker final was on, especially if Terry Griffiths was in it.
  2. Currently on FB marketplace just down the road from me. A hundred year old bottle of something or other containing a gram of coke.
  3. Some escaped from a council owned petting zoo near where I lived in Lancashire, late 80’s. They survived some pretty harsh Winters and eventually settled in a privately owned woodland, where they multiplied and where noticed by the local poachers. They are pretty fast, but unfortunately, slower than a lurcher, they are all gone now.
  4. Are they bringing them into Holiday Parks by the coach load?
  5. I had a quote from a dealer in Bellac for the same saw, it came in at €1900 with the unit, charger and the bigger battery. I went and had a demo, first thing that struck me was the weight, it actually weighs about the same as my 572xpg. The performance was pretty impressive to be fair, certainly the best battery saw that I have used, the new large battery IS essential though. Unfortunately, gunning it through bar length hardwood sapped a fully charged battery in around the same time it took for the oil tank reserve indicator to flash on, so I would need at least 3 batteries and the ability to charge them to do a days cutting, I left with a 592xpg.
  6. As a couple of beams, not worth much at all after transport, unless you can find someone local who wants it. We used to re saw lots of Douglas and Pitch pine from demolition jobs, usually old Mills from all over Lancashire. Delivered in by the artic load though. There is a guy in West Sussex, (Woodlouse Industries on Instagram) who might take them off your hands, I would be surprised if the value wiped their own arse though. Bonne chance 👍
  7. The larger one looks more like Larch or Douglas fir, which has very distinctive smell, the rings look too wide for decent pitch pine. Cut the end off and take a close up of the end grain, then compare it on the wood database.
  8. My local dealer offered me one last week, I am holding out for the xpg which should arrive at the end of the month.
  9. If you are on Instagram Andy, check out Grantlandtimber based in the SW. They have been importing Peterson Mills and developing business here for about a year, they are planning some sort of event this year, I think they are out and about up in Scotland this week.
  10. -5 with a little snow and ice causing transport issues for the school bus, so day off work with the little girl. Got busy with some baking, knocked out some Cornish pasties for lunch with a Victoria sponge currently in production.
  11. When you have performed CPR for 15 minutes and still had your own brother die in your arms, because of the actions of a speeding driver, come back to me on that one.
  12. Yeah, it keeps me motivated when I’m feeling the pain. I quite fancy this bike ride too, it goes straight past my house.
  13. I stagger my jobs so that I don’t climb every day, I tend to choose the enjoyable ones and get another climber in to do the ugly, ivy covered monstrosities over swimming pools. I work alone quite a bit too, so I am climber and groundy, I just price and pace the job out better. Eating well and keeping active outside of work is essential for me, I had back issues when I first moved out here due to inactivity, the harder I train the less issues I seem to have. I’ll keep climbing until the kids leave home then look at winding up, buy an over lander and just set off.
  14. If you know it’s wrong, go and get yourself tooled up then, it’s not hard to find a gun if you want one. You can walk around in blissful harmony knowing that you won’t be ‘scared, just prepared’ in whatever situation you find yourself in, imagine how safe you will feel whilst purchasing your Elderflower cordial down at Waitrose. If you do get pulled, you will face a 5 year stretch, but you could just argue your individual rights override the law, that degree will certainly come in handy.
