  1. I like the green arbortec gloves for hot days and the red pfanner ice grip for cold ones. They're nice and cheap and seem to last a long time. If I'm rigging then pfanner kepro.
  2. If they are different sizes then the cut can drift. I borrowed a 661 that was sent up to me in a tree that cut like a banana 😂 apparently different sized teeth can cause that. The teeth have a downward angle on the top plate so the more you cut off the thinner the chain effectively gets. If you sharpen one side then grind the teeth back a lot on the other if you hit a rock etc then the side with the longer top plate will cut more than the short side. In theory anyway.
  3. I've always started my 261 hot with no choke, just in the run position. I have found that putting in the decomp when hot can be annoying and effects starting like you say. Let's face it, if you need the decomp on a 261 you probably shouldn't be using it 😂
  4. All the ones around me either have new kit or really old kit. It seems to be night and day here 😂
  5. I know what you mean. I wouldn't be spending 28-30k+ on a new one but it seems like most guys on here do 😂
  6. Inc vat it was 21 in the end!
  7. Anyone ever done anything with cabbage palm? I've got loads of rounds up to 18" of cabbage palm and I have no idea what to do with it! Does it even burn? Dont want it sat about to season to find it's almost fire proof 😂
  8. Will be interesting to see what you get for the 8k mark. I started at 15k, that went to 17k, that went to 20, then 23k... It's hard to find good stuff that will last 😳
  9. Roughy was using some of that velcro cable strap stuff which I might try next time!
  10. Having bought a panther mill it's a great bit of kit. Well designed and takes the stress out of milling. My only complaint is my finger was getting sore holding the throttle down on the saw 😂
  11. It's basically like a really bad flu. They get conjunctivitis with a creamy discharge. Eyes, nose, face and genitals are usually swollen (not that I regularly check their genitals but when they're facing away it's like a baboons arse). They get slow, lose their appetite and then struggle to breathe and die. I've had ones you can just walk up to and it's like they don't know that you're there. *Edit* Ignore me, you're on about RHD not myxie 😂🤦🏼
  12. Pull the clutch off and regrease the sprocket bearing for sure. If it was mine I would gently trickle some water over it and use a paint brush to give it all a clean. The electrics will be waterproof anyway. I'd also check the oiler too, make sure the bushing that goes over the crank is clean and lubricated.
  13. Before they stormed Topsham they tried to storm the Exeter university pitch down the road that had a game on and got booted out 😂
  14. That's the one.. run by volunteers too 🙁
  15. I just use cambium savers. For srt I have a long rope coming out the bag through the cambium saver and to the ground. Once I have fed enough through to reach the ground plus redirects I just tie an alpine butterfly on the small ring side and safety it with a carabiner through the hoop and around the tail. When I get to the ground I just stick a retrieval ball onto the end and then pull out the cambium saver. It also means I can switch from srt to ddrt whenever I want. Just pull the knot side of the srt line down, undo the knot and you have the ddrt line ready to go which can be handy. If you're unsure about a tree you can also base tie the tail of the srt line so you have a top tie so the weight isn't doubled but you have the backup of if that fails the rope might drop onto the next branch down. Alternatively you can set it up with a petzl ID as the base tie so you have a ground recoverable anchor and not put the knot on the cambium side. Lots of options. Someone needs to invent an easily movable anchor. The petzl eject looked good but you have to remove the rope to move it so you might as well have a cambium saver considering the cost....
  16. I assume the nox sensor is connected to the dpf though which unless you've had hollowed out (which would also mean you didn't need adblue) would mean that you need it 👎 put me off the nv400 though 😳
  17. MOV_0547~2.mp4 Shook it off into a box, letting them regroup now as it gets cold and it's going to one of the new beekeepers!
  18. I really don't get it. I get that they obviously get off on being dirty scum but why not just book into a holiday park and enjoy a trip away. I also don't get why the authorities are so afraid to do anything.
  19. Talking about bees. Called to a swarm this afternoon. 50,000 odd hanging off a branch 😂 MOV_0546.mp4 MOV_0547~2.mp4 MOV_0547~2.mp4
  20. They're causing non-tree related carnage around me at the moment. Stormed a local rugby pitch, shit all over it then did handbrake turns and tore it up with SUV's. Ripped all the signage down and then smashed all the charity donated AED stuff off the walls.
  21. How on earth that is a fault that isn't a next day fix I have no idea... You would think (like with any other company) they would get parts in the next day. I had an issue with my X-trail, the boost sensor went and they cross referenced the part numbers, knew the engine was in the renault master series so they got the boost sensor on trade price from Renault and then sold it to me at cost price when the vehicle is 12 years old. Whole thing was fixed in a couple of hours. You must have a crap dealer 👎 On another note. Did they say what part of the egr pipe went? I wonder if you can blank both ends of it (seeing as it's already remaped so i assume the egr is always at 0%) and save a "common problem" from happening again.
  22. @dig-dug-dan Did this get sorted?
  23. It's a hell of a lot more ballanced with the 30 on. Wanted a 36 but bought a 30 off Ratman on here. I have a 42 but I didn't have it with me as at the time I was going to sell it, it's really nose heavy and not nice to use. The 881 feels like a chainsaw should with a 30"bar on, I don't have to fight it up onto timber. Also, at the time I had just bought the 881 for milling so I was trying to use it as much as possible to run it in before running it hard on a 74" mill
  24. Unless you're going to spend over £250 odd then a file is the best option, especially if you're only doing a chain or two a week. The Stihl 3 in 1 chain files are really good I found. Nice and quick and you don't need that much skill.
