  1. I bow to your experience. I suppose wishful hoping it was something simple like a loose wire. Will give him the good news.
  2. The saw belongs to a good mate. I’m ok with old kit so being Sunday. Have pulled the muffler and some very light scoring on the piston. It has not lost all compression but don’t know the saw. I’m used to my makita saws so used to dripping spark plugs. Sorry not the best pic of the piston.
  3. Thanks gents. Yes I have realised the connection is the heater connection when I got the crud cleaned. Have removed the carb to check the connection should I be able to see the piston rings through the inlet port. I can see the piston moving but doesn’t go down enough to see the rings?
  4. Thanks looks like one has come off no doubt I will find them thanks
  5. No sorry the electrical connection male spade just above the choke below the primer bulb should this be connected to anything
  6. Hi gents. I have been asked to look at this saw as not starting. Fuel not getting to the plug. Before I pull the carb I have found a connection which looks as if it should be connected but can’t find anything to connect to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Saw has previously been worked on by an expert and is a beast.
  7. I really liked the look of these stoves and visited the factory when in the area. But the stoves are not tested to be used in emission controlled areas so no good for our house as in a smokeless area . Unfortunately
  8. I have the Triton combo tool from screwfix. Not pro machines but works ok. About 4 year old and engine used a couple of times a week with the different attachments. Only fault has been a faulty on off switch but failed open so could still be used. Not a bad but of kit for the price.
  9. 7 pin plugs do not have reversing lights. They are either on a 13 pin or pin 1 on a 12s grey socket. Looks like all new trailers will be 13 pin
  10. I worked as a mobile tow at fitter. As soon as you turn up on the job asked would you like a cuppa. Thank you very much ask to let it out again and some of the looks I got would have cut steel. One lady said yes but make sure your clothes don’t touch the walls. Sorry the dirt was caused doing a job for you. Can’t win sometimes [emoji23]
  11. I have seen this many times in engineering. The pocket for the torx or Allen key has to be so deep to allow the key to work. Replaced several on TW150 always torqued up to spec. Unfortunately just the nature of short head bolts.
  12. Hope this helps it took me a while to work it out.
  13. I used creocote modern creosote on mine abt 6 years ago no rot and no affect on veg. Should be good for a few more years. Scaf boards and packaging from work.
  14. Thanks for the help gents much appreciated [emoji3]
  15. Quick update tried tapping with soft drift no chance. Fabbed up a tool and removed clutch bearing very dry but ok. Cleaned down a bit all ready to try on Wednesday with some sycamore Fabbed tool has poor weld as using a large rattle gun and wanted weld to fail before any damage could be done🤣🤣
  16. Yes I know that’s how it was when I got it. Absolutely covered. Will be a lot better when I’m finished I hope.
  17. Removing the starter makes sense as I could hear a noise coming from that side when turning the clutch. Thanks for the advice.
  18. I will give it a go tonight. I will use a brass punch. This saw was bought as a project and I’m surprised it fired up[emoji3]. The only thing I can find wrong is the end of the dead man switch has snapped off. Il see how it cuts. Photos of it when it came.
  19. It’s a 350 only homeowner saw but very cheap. No decomp. I thought that was what the cutouts were for but wanted to make sure. I have a couple of sthil and a makita first husky [emoji3]
  20. Just picked up this old saw. Really dirty when I got it. It’s running really well but I want to check the sprocket and grease the bearing. It looks like there is an area on the clutch face to hit and shock the clutch off but don’t want to do this. Any advice would be appreciated.
  21. I was in need of a new petrol strimmer. Looked at this one and bought it. All works as it should. Not as good as a dedicated long reach saw or hedge trimmer but for the price can’t fault it.
  22. I was once told by a copper don’t use a bat. Have one of the 6 cell long torches to hand. So you can see in dark and just happened to have it in your hand. Baseball bat can be classed as a weapon apparently [emoji848]
  23. Hot summers day and someone switches heaters on and asked you to use saw. Thought hands were on fire [emoji91]
  24. Video killed the radio star, ghost town. Sweet dreams, walk life an Egyptian, sledge hammer , blue Monday Romano and Juliet Can’t spell anymore
