    I have used shim to repair this type of damage in the past. I have also pop marked cases to tighten up the bearing before loctite. This works well on machinery but haven’t tried it on a crank journal. I have always used internal callipers and a mic to measure accurately just how I was shown many years ago but can’t put my hands on my 25-50 mic.

    Il let you know when the new bearings arrive with the new oil seals for the crank. Not too long I hope as il have forgot how it goes back together🤣🤣

    I have new bearings on order. Saw runs well just didn’t oil as pump was worn. I would have expected to see more ware in the crankcase and a small ridge. I have plenty bearing fit loctite. May have to bore the case and fit a sleeve for the bearing if off center.

    Just measured up the bearings and crankcase in my local bearing supplies. Both at 40mm no wear on crank case I was expecting to see it very worn with a spinning bearing. Took pics when I got back. There is no lip on the crankcase to be felt.

    I stripped it down expecting a failed bearing. Bearings a bit rough but no play. The play is between the casing and the bearing. No damage to casing. Looks like it’s been like this since manufacture very surprised. Will try new bearings if not too dear☹️☹️

    Well I have found the reason for the oil pump wear wish I had found this before buying a new Pump. Looks like open heart surgery. FullSizeRender.mov
  7. Ordered a new oil pump and pipes for my 7300p from Alan Watkins in Darlington 3 days from Makita all good. I picked up but they will post . Astonished at the speed the parts were available[emoji2][emoji2]

  10. I know this is a different bit of kit but the same type of pump. I for tipper trailer. Would raise no prob wouldn’t lower. Tried blipping down and would lower a couple of inches. Turned out to be water in the oil and blocked return filter. Oil had turned to soup. Drained oil and flushed with new. Problem sorted. Might be a blocked return filter?
  11. It was prob more like 5years ago according to Scott made it’s money back 10 times over. Shame looks like cold hands this winter🥶🥶
  12. Pulled the pot today very light scoring on the exhaust side. But very heavy gouges on the side above the gudgeon pin suspect the missing Curley tail from the pin clip is to blame. Looks like it’s a parts saw ☹️☹️ On closer inspection found the circling end wedged in the top of the cylinder just next to my screwdriver

  14. Yep that’s the saw. Going to have a look tomorrow if I get time he is in no rush for it back so will be a learning saw for me. Got his eye on a 500I

  17. The saw belongs to a good mate. I’m ok with old kit so being Sunday. Have pulled the muffler and some very light scoring on the piston. It has not lost all compression but don’t know the saw. I’m used to my makita saws so used to dripping spark plugs. Sorry not the best pic of the piston.
  18. Thanks gents. Yes I have realised the connection is the heater connection when I got the crud cleaned. Have removed the carb to check the connection should I be able to see the piston rings through the inlet port. I can see the piston moving but doesn’t go down enough to see the rings?

  20. No sorry the electrical connection male spade just above the choke below the primer bulb should this be connected to anything
  21. Hi gents. I have been asked to look at this saw as not starting. Fuel not getting to the plug. Before I pull the carb I have found a connection which looks as if it should be connected but can’t find anything to connect to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Saw has previously been worked on by an expert and is a beast.
  22. I really liked the look of these stoves and visited the factory when in the area. But the stoves are not tested to be used in emission controlled areas so no good for our house as in a smokeless area . Unfortunately
  23. I have the Triton combo tool from screwfix. Not pro machines but works ok. About 4 year old and engine used a couple of times a week with the different attachments. Only fault has been a faulty on off switch but failed open so could still be used. Not a bad but of kit for the price.
  24. 7 pin plugs do not have reversing lights. They are either on a 13 pin or pin 1 on a 12s grey socket. Looks like all new trailers will be 13 pin
  25. I worked as a mobile tow at fitter. As soon as you turn up on the job asked would you like a cuppa. Thank you very much ask to let it out again and some of the looks I got would have cut steel. One lady said yes but make sure your clothes don’t touch the walls. Sorry the dirt was caused doing a job for you. Can’t win sometimes [emoji23]
