There will be no air in the oil. The valve should be open at all times and only closed when unit is tipped up to stop leaks. As the ram lowers the oil is drawn from the tank. If air cannot enter the tank a vacuum will occur possibly causing damage. Hope this helps -
Had mine for about 3 months. Best fitting ear protection I’ve ever had. Also noticed not had a twig slapping my nose end while feeding chipper unlike my old petzel.

If going to go battery. I would go for makita. I’ve had the Dewalt and are slow. I have the Stihl 181. Been absolutely hammered and can’t kill it.

I’ve had the Titon one from screw fix. It’s about 5 year old now and still going strong. No problems so far.

Ye coving was badly fitted. The joint had cracked out so a gap available. It was fitted 25 years ago in a hurry.

Yes wardrobes have gone. There was coving where the mould patch is. The worst part was under the coving and a line on the outside. As previously said the insulation was not fitted above this area it was abt 6” short of the wall . I have insulated this now.

Yes this is on the corner of the fitted wardrobe vent in wardrobe old air brick so always cold in there. Thought it would be better than blocking it up though.

Yes I think the temp difference is the problem. There is a small patch in the same place in the other bedroom. Traditional roof construction tiles and felt. I have checked the vents many times for leaks. Today is dry but a cold wind. The ceiling directly below the vent is very cold compared to the rest . Will duct the vents at 90’ into the loft

Well gents as she who makes all the decisions has decided to have the wardrobes pulled out. I have found the cause of my condensation problem. The problem area is directly under a vent in the roof so cold bridging as the cold air from outside blows directly onto the insulation creating a cold area on the ceiling. Some ducting needed me thinks.

Yes it’s the mineral wool. Most of the problems are above the windows only 2 courses on bricks above these so no wall insulation. I will see what insulating properly in the loft dose

Just for info the bedroom which is the worst is furthest from the stove. Two outside walls. Crap cavity wall insulation conned by the free scheme in the 2000, gable facing the wind. always a bit colder but ok. I have recently replaced the plastic cladding on the bathroom ceiling always condensed the steam from a bath or shower. As the cladding had a void above as ceiling lowered to fit lights used the bubble rap insulation sold in Screwfix. Ceiling condensation reduced a lot so happy days.

I actually think the stove blazing away in the living room down stairs had made the problem worse. No heating on upstairs when stove is on so colder for longer in the bedrooms. Wouldn’t go back to the heating though as cool in bed and free wood 🤣

Well gents I may have found the cause. Been up in the loft. Very shallow roof. Although the new insolation was touching the felt under the tiles there is a gap between the wall and insulation exposing the plaster board. So no insulation over the area with mould cold ceiling air condensing leaving moisture. lazy installation of insulation as it is a crawl on ya belly to tuck it right in. thanks for the help guys il let you know if this is the cause. if I stop itching 😂😂

Both bedrooms on same wall west facing. I have had the roof checked by a trusted builder and nothing found all looks ok. Guttering ok. I have removed coving and nothing under it. Seams to be condensation on a cold spot on the ceiling. Insulation done to current standards and looks to be right up to wall. This afternoons job is to pull insulation back check top of plaster board.

Yes all the above arguments have crossed my mind. Heat loss windows open etc. The problem we have is mold along the window wall in the bedrooms. Tried keeping windows open all year round no better. Two extractors in bathroom still no better. A work mate mentioned PIV looked at how it works seams to make sense. Looked at all the reviews google Amazon etc all good but do you believe them. Thought I would ask the collective as many knowledgable people on hear

The system I have been looking at is just the PIV. Supposedly works by having a slightly higher pressure in the house forcing out the stale are through gaps in the house. Designed for older houses. The air from the loft can be heated but still looks to be cold. I was hoping someone would have used this in real life.

It’s one of those things lots of very positive reviews on line not many bad ones except faulty kit. Sounds too good to be true. Fan in loft pushes stale air out of house, no more condensation low running costs. Are the reviews true or is this the best thing since sliced bread no one has heard about?

Hi gents. Hoping I can get some feedback on a PIV system. Have been looking at installing on of these to try and reduce damp in the house. Online reviews look very good so would like some real world experience before shelling out.

Just done some work on a stihl pole saw I think HT133 it has a splined drive so may be an idea.

I haven’t had anything to do with the chainsaws. I have had the combo tool for a few years and runs ok. Also have the blower/vac both start ok and run but feel flimsy and plasticky. Might be ok for occasional use.

The plastic grass was put down at a very cheap price by our local. Lop top and drive cleaners. It has done its job as Mam was very happy with it. The problem is it was put down on a covering of sand and animals are burrowing under it moles etc. it has been down abt 7 years now so not too bad.
