  1. Knocked some old lime based plaster off for a lad a few years ago with intensions or replastering the room for him, solid walls nearly two foot thick, caught the edge of his “solid wood lintel” with my hilti, chuffing thing disintegrated on me!!! [emoji15] when i got more of the plaster off i could see it was littered with tiny holes [emoji33] stuck corner of my bonding float in to it and it just dropped in bits, flakey powdery all over its full length!!! He replaced it with a steel. lucky lad cos it was on a big old gable end! Made me unnervey whilst i was knocking rest of room off! ?[emoji90]
  2. Yep..... i fully understood every word you said there David [emoji16]
  3. I had it growing all over some cut beech i had stacked in a corner outside for a while, came to pick them up to move them and i heard a tearing sound, in doing so it was trying to move several pieces at one time that had stuck together. Once i prized them apart, thats what they were covered in! I just scraped it off and its not come back since. Have they been exposed to the weather Saul or been anywhere with excess dampness?

  7. I dont have a “saw” Les, so my limits are potentially endless [emoji4]
  8. Kin’ell Andy, come on now! Thats insulting a poor defenceless piece of wood! [emoji16]
  9. I’d of said yeah, argument of clean up is between council and builders merchants. If you’ve reported it then its all you can do. Council have attended so have acknowledged it, stand down. Only thing you could do is get a case reference off them to cover you, otherwise, leave it to them.
  10. You think it would harm going straight to milling work with the 30” - 41” bars they come with? Obviously your 60”+ bar would be some serious set off pain potentially.
  11. I am but a novice regards these things, but interested and eager to learn! Good link [emoji106]
  12. His post says Ash Andy, would imagine its not quite as stable as Oak slow drying do ya think?

  20. I practically live by candle light Sam, love it! Very rarely use a light switch, kitchen is lit from the light off my cooker hood, front room is lit by tv, (and wood burner if its lit) probably use the bathroom light most out of any, otherwise its practically darkness [emoji108][emoji108][emoji108]
  21. Bet Les knows more!
  22. I think the 881 prices will creep up to £1500 or so after a few weeks/months of being out, lots of places are already advertising at £1600 mark with 30” bar & chain. The likes of radmore, mowers to go etc will probably be doing the introductory offers to get things moving. (Just my thoughts)
  23. For a little over £200 more than your initial thoughts of spending £1143 you could have the 881 from Radmore and tucker as Rough Hewn has pointed out with a 41” bar and chain (cheaper obviously if you want 30” or 36” bar instead, or even no bar)
