  13. All sounds cheap to me, maybe the answer if your chopping 16" diameter up for firewood is to sort it and sell it for milling The cost of kiln dried joinery timber has gone thru the roof lately Prime oak in 2" slabs £2600 a cube + vat!! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  17. The centre and sapwood are a waste of time milling, get rid of those and quarter saw the rest oversize to allow for warping,bow and shrinkage prior to machining Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. More trouble than it's worth, ours comes straight from a stenner into a trailer, we used to then just burn it on the farm fire Wev now bought a sawdust n crap burner for the workshop, free heat n no hassle of disposal[emoji2][emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
