  1. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji106] Might have to upgrade my "bag for life" throw line bag.
  2. I didn't know I couldn't lift it until.... [emoji23][emoji106] It's the expense of another 880. One power head with the hyperskip chain is fine. Really impressed by it. Keeps the chain speed high. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  3. Kin brilliant, well done mate. That's a proper labour of love there. Love all the details. [emoji7][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  4. Been there several times... [emoji23][emoji106]
  5. Preferably in Yorkshire or Lancashire? Please message me Thanks
  6. It's in the back garden... Through our new kitchen... [emoji23][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  7. Yes. Horizon panther mills are that much better. Everything has been upgraded, Modernised, and redesigned. It's genius, literally. If you have used a granberg or chillaskan and then use a panther mill you'll understand. I couldn't go back now. [emoji106]
  8. Can't lift it on my own. Strictly a two person job now. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  9. Happy mum [emoji106]
  10. 5am this morning, Awoken by my excited 9 yr old daughter. The cat was freaking out and meowing solidly. The four kittens were tied in a bundle by umbilical cords and other "stuff". Half awake with a pair of nail scissors trying desperately not to trim a leg or tail as this mass of wriggling mewling kittens tries to escape. 15 near wracking minutes later all is calm. 4 happy kittens, 1 happy cat and I'm covered in blood,****, and unidentifiable "stuff". Spring is here! [emoji16][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  11. With this: Stihl ms880 powerhead, 84" GB bar .404 Oregon hyperskip chain And the 80" horizon panther mill . Cuts like a dream. [emoji106]
  12. Junk. Effing liability. Can't take it to work. Unsafe. Effing dangerous were the originals, probably killed more tree surgeons than any other Saw. And you want one which has passed NO safety tests and made from inferior materials??????? There's still plenty of 200's on the second hand market. Get a tidy one and get it refurbished by a decent mech. [emoji106]
  13. But if it is solid. It'll pay nicely. That's the gamble. And yeah you get your firewood sorted if it's not for milling. [emoji106]
  14. This. After milling a "free" log, I've been told "That would of cost me £350 to have removed". [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] I've also told clients who's trunk is "still up in the garden" If it's hollow it's £200 for the fell. [emoji106]
  15. Looks knackered to me. Hope I'm wrong. [emoji106]
  16. Got down to the burr today, [emoji106]
  17. In Yorkshire every pull over, park up and country lane has black bags full of soil and crap from weed growers. They are literally everywhere. Quoted a job in the middle of nowhere a few weeks back. There was 30-50 bin bags full of weed strewn all over the embankment, piles of ducting, lamps the whole lot. W-Anchors [emoji35]
  18. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] That's a biggy. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  19. About a grand with a couple of chains. Or... 1-2 slices of that log. [emoji848][emoji6][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  20. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]??‍♂️ He's ringed it up. That's olive ash..... Noooooo..... [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] IF... it is a 6 foot diameter monster, Mill it whole. Go buy an 80" panther mill and bar. 4"-6" thick slabs. Worth a kings ransom when dry. [emoji106]
  21. Get a 5 litre water bottle. Cut the top off, flip it and attach to the bottom with a few cable ties or metal wire. Drop any old piece of meat in. (And a rock) Attach a rope and leave overnight in the water. If you've got crayfish, they'll be in the bottle. Repeat for 3-6 months to be sure. They taste amazing too! BBQ or boiled [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  22. Between £5. To £600 sooooooo many different factors. But a 3' wide 10' long 3" thick slab of beech should more than cover the price of a Chinese mill from RobD. [emoji106]
  23. I agree, mills should come with some sort of warning: Danger!!! your garage/house/barn/garden WILL be filled with sawn timber. Long term users often feel a deep sense of well being interrupted by brief outbursts of swearing when the mill stops working. Classic symptoms are: Covered in sawdust, A thousand yard stare when you mention burrs,pippy,Elm,ripples.. Covered in sawdust... Facial drool whilst staring at park trees you know you'll never ever be able to mill.... Covered in sawdust. Did I mention sawdust? Then you get to start milling big stuff and you say: "**** I can't lift that" Going to need some bigger kit..... You were warned ok?! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji106]
  24. Sometimes I am asked: "Why is it so expensive..." The simple answer is: "What price do you think that would sell for as a table?". [emoji106]
