  1. Retired climber, what was your business name when you were working? [emoji106]
  2. Go back to the start and read carefully. [emoji106]
  3. Turkish hazel has very different bark, grey and a bit ridged, the nut is held in an alien like cup. Got one down the road, I’ll photo it one day [emoji106]
  4. Please enlighten me doobin. I don’t have a clue, you’re right. I just cut wood, I don’t have an accountant yet. [emoji106]
  5. Nope. 3 separate sites with their own kit and staff. Each a limited company. [emoji106]
  6. I know a couple of tree surgeons with an incurable fungal lung disease, presumably from cutting decaying wood frequently. Strangely my dad also has this, but he was an art teacher🤷🏽‍♂️
  7. Not you too Mick. I run 3 businesses, tree services, Saw milling and timber merchants. If I get a turnover approaching vat, I’ll just set up each business as a ltd. Each stays under the vat threshold. The savings I’d make on new kit are a few hundred or thousand a year. Compared with tens of thousands I’d have to charge in vat. Also I will point out, if all you want, is to earn more and more money, there are far safer, easier and quicker ways. As you well know. [emoji106]
  8. Possibly, she was elderly. I’ll find out pribabky
  9. I’m a wood cutter not a tax collector. I can never understand the mentality of people …
  10. You just said anyone who isn’t vat registered is a hobby. You’re not a troll, you’re just ignorant. That’s all. [emoji106]
  11. Scottish cleaning services or vesp? [emoji848]
  12. You really know you’re stuff don’t you? [emoji848]
  13. €9.90 for a file. That’s RRP. [emoji106]
  14. You think what I do is a hobby? [emoji848]
  15. Apparently it’s easier than a round file[emoji106]
  16. Absolute rubbish. Did you open your business on day one with 90k turnover?
  17. That’s ridiculously cheap!!! Is it real at that price? [emoji106]
  18. It should be easier and quicker to sharpen than a regular file and chain… And will cut quicker too. [emoji106]
  19. I’ve always used this website[emoji106]
  20. When I worked for the council a few years back, we had to pass a council trailer test before we were allowed out with a sub 750. I expect it’s an insurance thing? 🤷🏽‍♂️
  21. I’ve heard various anecdotes… Most say no problems, others have had leaks. Personally I would imagine it depends on the condition of the hoses etc. If they are old and cracked, probably needed changing anyway. As for price, yes it’s twice the price of pump fuel, but what price for your health? It’s about £10-£12 more a day for you. I mill with 880/881’s all day most days. We do about 5–10 litres a day depending on log size. [emoji106]
