  1. Sounds like you know what you're doing. I dont have the know how, skills or equipment to build one myself. I could do with your pick-list and pictures though. Might be worth me getting a local blacksmith to make me something similar. Also, how do you intend on powering the hydraulics on the log loader if you get one like in the picture? Enerpac or something like that?
  2. I dont think he meant profit? Just what he'd make a Ton, then the cost of buying the Butt taken off etc. Im tempted to take it, I really am. Would have to spend a Grand on a new Mill though. So would need to be able to sell some of it to recoup some of the costs. If I do get it I'll keep you sizing guide in mind. Never know, I might get lucky.
  3. Will you be getting it certified? Im hearing all new trailers need to be type approved?
  4. Cool, really looking forward to the pictures. I know Woodlands, Logosol and Norwood sell their Trailer package as under 750kg total inc the Sawhead. This is to remain brakeless. Would being twin axle affect this? If you're over 750 what is your plans?
  5. Im an innocent child and dont understand you guys innuendos.
  6. Geeeeez, you aint got nothing on me today. Anyway, Im not gay, but a hundred bucks is a hundred bucks. Personally speaking keep them coming!
  7. What would you charge for something like the Chestnut Ive poorly tried to explain? The guy did say it will go to the Sleeper man and he'd make about £400 a ton off of it. So I have little leeway.
  8. Ok cheers, I'll have a look when its down.
  9. Post Brexit we'll make the Remoaners eat their words, leave plenty of food for the rest of us.
  10. [emoji16] Been there, done that. I don’t even bother hanging my coat up these days. ?
  11. Ah cool. Was in the Congo and Ivory Coast for a while, then North Africa. What do you do?
  12. I’ve since spoke with him. It’s standing dead.
  13. It is a shame when such beautiful trees come down I agree. I met the Forestry guy for a chat about buying some Oak, nothing more, he offered me this and a few other Sweet Chestnuts so I thought Id ask what its like here.
  14. I'll give you 1 outta 10 for a very poor attempt at Trolling.
  15. You mean Cushnie Farm Huntly! I live in Cushnie near Alford Neither! Cushnie Farm near Laurencekirk, still Aberdeenshire I think? You work off-shore?
  16. Ah well. Nothing to do with me and I have no control over it. Thinking back I remember him saying the branches where a danger, something like that.
  17. I'll not be that way again till I go back with the Trailer as its a 30 minute drive from my house. Its more like the top picture but smoother and less indentations, if that makes sense? If its no use for Milling I'll just leave it then. No point in spending a grand on a new Mill and Bar if its Sleeper quality.
  18. Im not sure? I never asked. Its not as big as the one in the top picture. Maybe already dead? A few of the Oaks where Standing dead.
  19. I have to fill 2/3rds of the way through with my 088!
  20. Cheers, He also has Sweet Chestnut on-site, one is an absolute monster. Will end up as Sleepers he said. Must be 5-7' diameter at least, for a good 10 foot. Lots of bulbous protrusions. A mix of the two pictures below really. Worth buying? I could Mill up on site and its only a few meters from roadside. Would need to buy a new Mill though.
  21. True. So if there is noticeable shake then just leave it?
  22. Cheers J. Its all still standing so will not get to see the quality till mid next week when its down. I'll do two runs at 2 tons each then.
  23. What are people paying for Oak Roadside? I was out seeing a Forestry guy today and he's wanting £150 a ton roadside for logs about 750mm in diameter, as thats what my Mill will take. He'll load my trailer too. I can only take a couple of tons at 3m long. If I wanted 5-6 tons in longer lengths he could deliver. How does this sound?
