  1. If you have children do you not raise them with a set of standards that you believe?
  2. Done much quarter sawn Oak? When you Milled the 1" x 3' Slabs did they warp as well and as much? I plan on playing around with 1/4 sawing when I get back from Off-Shore.
  3. Is this due to experience with milling anything over 90cm thinner than 2"? I'm still fairly new to this but Ive not had any issues with maxing out my 48" Mill and Milling at 2". I dont tend to bother with crappy wood though.
  4. Any suggestions as to the thickness of board having seen the stems? In my opinion you'd have to see the ends when dropped. If there's a lot of shake or rot thats gonna determine what you can actually do with it. If its all good then personally I found 2" sells well. Always folk looking for Bar Tops, Coffee Table Projects etc.
  5. Well thats an opinion, not a fact. All the main players are constantly jockying for position and dominance. Without sounding like a nut its amazing what was once considers a Conspiracy Theory and now is fact. Why? We've had all means of defending ourselves removed. If we where to be forced to live a certain why where does that force end? You dont really get to pick and chose you know.
  6. Thats if you believe in " Climate Change" More than ever it comes across as a sinister political play and the do-gooders doing their leg work for them.
  7. Really? Muslims the world over are pushing hard to end climate change?
  8. What other life is there for a vegan?
  9. Weird as most of them are W*nkers. Sorry, bad joke.
  10. We're told to stop eating meat and eat either the lab stuff they are starting to grow or insects. Feck that!
  11. I just did the quiz, as honest as possible. I hit 31t ? but to be honest some of that could have been taken by my wife. Ie, I dont live in my house alone, she needs the heating cranked up over 24c and obviously the pets are not all mine. I included Duck and Chicken feed in that too. You have to be congratulated for your efforts though. Hopefully one day I'll get my consumption lower. I'm still gonna travel to the Caribbean each year though. :P
  12. I think flying has to be one of the most polluting things I/we do. Dont feel so bad about having 4 cars now, half of which are almost 6.0l V8's.
  13. https://www.history101.com/elite-unit-spartan-army-homosexual-lovers/ This stuff?
  14. To be fair that is a lot more than most. Dont see what relevance owning a home is? I have 3 children now and 1 on the way. I like to make up for those that choose to have none. I fly almost weekly. I help extract Oil. What do you have in your column? ?
  15. Is there any real life examples from the folks here that show they are leading by example? Genuinely interested at what all the Doom Mongers are actually doing?
  16. Couple of Sack Barrels at the worse.
  17. What about a trolley of some kind? Unless access is so narrow you'd have to turn on its side? But even then??
  18. When I run out of fuel with my 064 or my 088, or get low (obviously) I just fill it idling. ? Is this bad practice? Never had an issue yet but I assume it could be a fire hazard? I always allow my saws to idle for a good few minutes after each cut though. Been told its good practice, some think Im wasting my time.
  19. If I can find a buyer. I have no idea on value, I'm just hoping to get enough to pay for the time to mill it. 1 stem is circa 2.5-3' and the second is circa 3.5-4'. Was thinking 2 1/4" boards unless anyone would suggest otherwise Sounds like some cracking logs there! Im sure more knowledgable folk will post soon. But I agree with you 2" or 2 1/4" seems to be what the market wants. Value would depend on the quality of course and if you bother seasoning them first? How long are they? 3m x 36" should see £200 a Slab Green. Rough Hewn here sells slabs so Im sure he'll have a more of an idea of value. Would be nice to see a pic of the logs.
  20. Oak. 48" bar should suffice, I was just curious was all Nice, should get a few quid for the Slabs then.
  21. What will you be milling? I think Bill will be referring to a 48" Lo-Pro Bar, so a 42" Cut. I doubt anyone would but a bigger 50"+ Bar on an equivalent of a 660?
