  1. ok thanks , i forgot Rob did skip chain now , i've had a few Sugi bars from him and forgot about that:up:
  2. quick one about the 395 XP i just got one and has a 28 inch bar and my 385 does , i have 28 inch chains and 2 of which are skip , but was thinking of getting a 32 inch or even 36 inch bar a s we sometimes have big stuff to cut , but not much , would a 395 xp pull a full chain(not so much for power but clearing wood out ) or would a skip be better as they are not easy to get over here
  3. i might have a couple but not sure if its those chains or oregon, i,ll get a vid done next time
  4. i got several chains from yourselves a while back , ive run them not a huge amount so far but have been on 262 xp 562 xp and 372 xp all of them did stretch a little but all needed just one tighten up , dont dull any worse than the oregons i used previously , a few days ago i hit a nail in a bit of Pine and burred over about 10 teeth so i swapped to another saw and then sharpened it that night on my grinder , used the 562 today and took down 2 20 inch pines and blocked them up, still flying big chips , happy chap so far
  5. 268 ( non xp), found in a council skip by my pals dad , has been lying in a shed for about 6 years until he gave it to me free as no use for him , no bar , looks like it had been crushed as the handle was bent and broken, chain brake handle was bent and cracked top cover was missing , air filter was broken off and a dent in the muffler and the fuel and oil cap missing , mouse had been chewing on the plug rubber but no big deal there so..apart from that it was not too bad , took it apart for inspection and only thing i found was the fuel line had been pulled when it got crushed and when the saw returned to its usual position the line had folded over so would,t run again for more than a few seconds , so likely why it ended up in a skip , checked the carb and looked good as new inside so blew it all out but nothing showed put it together for a test run anyway . still hone marks on the jug and machine marks on the piston and only a couple of tiny lines so not a huge amount of use and still the OEM piston and cly (Gilardoni) .Test fitted the handle and fuel and oil caps form my 61( 266 conversion) and bolted right on , found replacemet top cover and air filtercover for £15($20) on ebay so waiting on them ,my spare 262 filter is the same one and fits to the frame perfect so that was a bonus too , fitted the brake handle from my spares 262 xp and it fitted perfectly to the mag 268 casing rinsed out the fuel and oil tanks got a new fuel line form my local husky dealer and fitted it .filled it with fuel and oil , put a splash in the carb and it fired up right away and stopped another splash and it runs sweet as a watch and oiling good , set it four stroking at 13000 for now , not run in wood yet ..but yip a good deal there
  6. well yes if you have the funds its fine , but lots of us like playing with them , warranty fair enough , but most times scoring or cylinder damage is rarely warrantyied as its claimed to be bad fuel, wrong oil, not enough oil, operator error blah blah
  7. hmm ok , i seen that they were different on some other forum a while ago , but it may have been on older models , i never looked at the IPL to see the part numbers
  8. The 372 is about 150 quid dearer and mechanically its the same saw other than the restricted transfers and the intake boot is slightly different due to higher vibes on extended use by professionals
  9. yeah i see where you at there , i understand the strato feature , but just never considered it when i ground out the bit which looked like a restriction to me , i have it set 4 stroking at 13000 on a tach and soon as its in wood it cleans up right away , and i use Aspen with a touch more Husky XP oil to run it at 40:1 ,still might get a new bit when i get a price for one
  10. Oops i ground out the diverter/ splitter as i though it was quite a restriction in there , have not noticed any difference in use , but as its part of the strato thing it does have a function , Hmm might order up a replacemnet as it may be detrimental in the long run
  11. Used the 95 txl yesterday and really really impressed , it throws big chips and cuts real fast , my pal had a huge grin on his face on first cuts , was fitted to a totally stock and well used 357 xp with a new sugi bar from Rob D , after a whole tank used it still was real good , kept its edge like new , although we took down a couple of busted trees and blocked up some windblown spruce it was softwood and clean so.. but comparing it to the previous bar and husqvarna chain there was a significant difference , we have always used full chisel chains so thought we give it a go and so far so good , we do block up some dirty stuff sometimes so just use tired chains tidied up so we dont ruin good ones , but will see how these get on in future Very impressed so far
  12. yeah thats much better :-) , i was initially on ebay then went to your shop on the ebay page but still had trouble raking through the headers , must have missed that page somehow , all the ones i saw were packs of 2
  13. had to do another post as edit time run out once the title box is opened it lists loads of husqvarna saws 61,372.575.576,385.390 etc all these saws run 0.58 chains normally unless someone has converted them (which is very rare unless they run stihls too so bars can be swapped around ), but every chain listed is 0.63 gauge which is what stihl uses , i cannot find any 3/8 0.58 chains on the site ?, no matter what i open up to find ,so do you have 3/8 0.58 chains ?
  14. Trying to assist with you a bit here , your saw chain id is so messed up, if i enter say 20 inch chain husqvarna it comes up with the same pic with 144 results with some tiny differences in the text , which may have a saw ID and very few even mention the pitch and gauge in the title so , have to open each header box it up and it often lists 0.63 gauge and a different pitch to the saw listed .maybe need the web designer to sort it out a bit and improve the search functions , anyone who needs chains usually does a search for Pitch /Gauge and Drive links , so that should narrow it down a huge amount but this comes up with no results on the website , but then the item id has to be correct , then that will improve sales , as no one wants to be sitting opening endless numbers of headers then finding the chain spec is not for the saw they use I entered 372 xp 20 " and it came up with 0.63 gauge , entered 16 inch and the same 0.63 entered a 24 " chain and it came up with a 14 guide bar , so some works needs to be done , , even if someone calls your telesales , and ask for a 20 inch chain for a 372 xp , will that result in the correct one or a stihl gauge chain , or does the specs asked match to your list , nothing worse than receiving the wrong parts . hope this is a little help for you
  15. on nightshigfts , so cant call just now ,thnking on 3/8 058 72 dl and 3/8 0.58 68dl and 3/8 058 60 dl depending on which i use , still have plenty of chains just now but interested in them to try out
  16. had a look at your site and its very dofficult to find the correct one , if i try 3/8 0.58 or 1.5 mm no results come up , so then you have to go through every box to find which chain it is , also if i enter say .. 372 xp it comes up with 0.63 cauge .... which husky doesnt use unless you stihl mount bar with an adapter , so somethign needs sorting out there
  17. ah thats a pity but understandable , guy in canada deals with them but wont ship to uk
  18. Hi Rob , are you planning on getting the Tsumura light bars in the large mounts ?, love the look of them and would be a nice compliment to the 28 and 20 sugi light pro bars i got from you , i have been looking around the world for them but seems impossible to get them :-( i know your mainly sugi bars but as yo have a couple of small mount in stock , was wondering if you have access to large mount maybe 16-24 inch range ? be nice on my 562xp :-)
  19. ok , that will be a plan then , thanks for the info , worth it i think , the one on it is ok ish but in poor state really
  20. ok cheers not too bad really , i have been looking at the service bulletin and you can get it as a complete part or separately as parts some of which were changed too and need to be got too aside form the cover itself , was it the whole assy you got , just to fit right on ?
  21. haha , never thought of that , did get lots o wee bits and bobs but had not asked about that, I,m away working now on nights for a while yet so wont be able to ask about it ,may I ask how much was it roughly?, I put a bit of money into it already but still be worth it I think to have the proper cover .
  22. it came with the 3/8 sprocket and all my other stuff is 3/8 but only small issue is the k 095 small mount bars , all my other saws are 009 so i had to get a new 18 " bar for it and then a 16 " oregon light one as it came with no bar , but they will last a long time as its a toy for me really:-) , it had all the original parts but just decided to replace stuff due to age , it run fine when i got it but was unsure of its past so just took it apart and replaced wear and tear items i just pick and choose which one to use , but my fave now is the 562 xp , i did timed cuts with then with new chains in a 14 inch oak and there wasnt much in it really , but the 562 is so smooth
  23. Hi Guys , I have stripped , cleaned inspected and rebuilt a 262xp i purchased a wee while ago , the plastic chain brake was a bit cooked discoloured but is still working fine , does anyone on here have the later magnesium one for sale ? I definately would prefer that one so the plastic lugs dont eat into the casing , its done no harm reallly to the sockets as its not had real hard use on it(other than someone maybe leaving the brake on too long and revving it excessively with it engaged ? ) . Still has the original P&C and all i did was crank seals ,oil pump seals ,new carb kit and a coupe of bolts here and there a better top cover to replace the one which was fairly scuffed and a split in it, so if anyone has a cover , let me know , I,ll do a decent price on a chain brake side cover a I love this thing , it rips , 1991 model with hda 87 carb and thin base gasket
  24. the decomp was introduced on the 262 in mid 93 i believe my year 91 week 26 one and year 93 week 10 do not have them and not even a smooth part where it was planned to be , both are OEM cyl and pistons so are correct and they even have the casting dates on the cyl base beside the transfers , it was introduced later as folk were complaining about how hard they were to pull lol , it is tough , my 372 and 385 seem easier
