  1. Don’t be awkward eh Mark. Nope it was 14 of us on that occasion, I’ve always been a contractor/self employed so never been on the books permanently. The point is it’s been going on for years especially after free movement of Labour etc. The 800 is nothing compared to the real numbers of people this has happened too, only difference is this grabs the headlines. The new forth crossing, Rosyth where the aircraft carriers were built etc etc thousands of foreign workers. End of the day it’s down to greed Mark pure greed from company owners wanting to maximise profit be it through lower wages or tax avoidance etc.
  2. No idea Mark but as I’ve said already it was happening way way before brexit. Free movement of cheap labour bud ??. Myself and a team of guys were swapped out for Latvian agency workers on a cable recovery job in UK waters before the brexit referendum so to claim it wouldn’t have happened is bollocks.
  3. It has happened and it would Mark. On this bud you are wrong. I’ve experienced it myself so how can you say it wouldn’t have happened.
  4. Don’t blame Brexit for an issue that’s been going on for years Mark under loads of different governments. They didn’t have any security in first place. I’ve been on vessels in UK sector/waters for years before brexit and it was and is predominantly foreign crews. Prebrexit ive been binned off jobs myself for In my case a Latvian replacement. Currently the whole wind farm situation is a joke, constructed overseas, installed by foreign vessels with foreign crews for in most cases overseas companies.
  5. Not unlike the situation which currently exists in virtually every vessel that is involved in supporting the UK oil and gas industry and also sadly the manufacture and installation of the billions worth of structures going up around the coastline on the many wind farms. Lot to be said for the “Jones act”.
  6. Trans 🤷‍♂️Wtf or rather whentf did that crap start to become the norm. My 13yr old twins come home regularly from school with some proper odd ideas about what’s normal in regards identifying as x y or x. Bloody nuts.
  7. JK Rowling slams Keir Starmer after Labour leader says 'trans women are women' | Daily Mail Online WWW.GOOGLE.CO.UK The Harry Potter author took to Twitter this morning to criticise the Labour leader's comments, claiming the party could 'no... Starmer showing once again why Labour is where it is.
  8. Priorities 👍
  9. John Bercow: Former Speaker banned from parliament for life after bullying inquiry finds him guilty APPLE.NEWS John Bercow has been found guilty of bullying House of Commons staff by the standards watchdog and banned from... 😳 I guess a few in Westminster will be happy. Yet another small man with a big bark.
  10. These guys are genuine decent people, many of whom grew up under the soviet yoke. To be honest they tend to have a better work ethic and more grounded traditional attitude than a lot of the brits I work with. What you see is what you get ie no bullshit. As is the case with most on the forum there is more to people than the bollocks we tend to post on here.
  11. Speaking to 2 of the Ukrainian officers from the vessel im on regularly “who after nearly 10 years of working with I consider good friends” they look upon getting family across into the nearest possible safe country as a temporary measure . Drive across the border to a neighbouring country or cross half off Europe to get to the UK !! the numbers are always gonna be way out. Sturgeon should concentrate on sorting out the mess the last 14 years of snp governance has caused before passing comment on anything else. She could start with the high drug death statistics. Before you comment I’ll let you know I’ve offered both the Ukrainian guys I know onboard a place to stay with their family if it comes to that and financial assistance if required.
  12. So much shit flying around 🤷‍♂️ Thing is mark it wasn’t about Boris that much more your tax deviances in the end.
  13. One mans shit is another’s gospel.
  14. Not sure why you quoted that mark, the guy was well within his rights and he did indeed show good operator skills in what is a nice little unit. I take it you don’t agree with the verdict ??
  15. 😞Really 🤷‍♂️Mind you wtf did I expect. Pop up to Glasgow and find a copper, whilst within earshot start calling people jock T***S and see what happens.
  16. Boris is a ****************ing tit mark. And like yourself an utter hypocrite.
  17. Nice little machine 👍he displayed excellent operator skills 👍
  18. Racist, how so? I'm just curious as I don't live in Scotland so have no first hand experience. Nicola Sturgeon is one of the most anti English individuals you could ever come across, she barely manages to keep it under wraps.
  19. I must admit Mark im surprised how candid you are about your attitude to tax especially seeing the way you seem to espouse social justice at every opportunity. Im sorry to Mark to the tune of £211000 over 3 years 😥. Mind you I console myself with thinking of how that will have made a difference when spent wisely by the snp.
  20. Grow up Mark Anyone but you is what it sounds like.
  21. Wrong Mark, I’ve been self employed since leaving the Army, I’m more than happy to pay my taxes. The shit I’ve gone through in the past 3 years out of 32 is down to the actions of two individuals ( Directors of the contractor and the agency I was paid through, both of whom played the ltd company get me out of jail free card to walk away from the carnage) The two individuals did as you say and played by the rules but knew where and how to bend them to the limit 🤷‍♂️Morally bankrupt wankers Mark.
  22. I don’t think Mark, you’ve just told everyone how you view things 🤷‍♂️. Your actually saying you want the free stuff but are happy to avoid the tax !! Who do you think should pay for it then ??.
  23. No thanks I’m happy to pay my way.
  24. That’s pretty bad Mark, you preach socialism yet practice tax avoidance. As for being up people’s hoops that mortgage guru Mandleson was the man for that I hear.
