He’s sold his forrester and the generator to go with it. Looked like a cracking bit of kit too for the big hardwoods. Yeah he’s a nice guy to deal with. Very knowledgeable.

Average time from application to issue for a first time FAC is nearly a year Mull. Probationary periods at clubs which you obviously along with the medical checks weren’t aware of can easily stretch into longer. But you still say it’s not difficult eh 🤷♂️. As I stated it’s probably easier in fact to obtain an illegal firearm if you do desire than a legal one.

I’ll remember to tell my FLO that next time I speak to him. Thankfully the protocols in place in the UK do in fact seem to weed out the Walter Mitty bullshit artists or indeed tossers whom seem to think obtaining a firearm is easy.

Dear oh dear mull. I’ve been an FAC holder for over 25yrs I’m currently going through my sixth renewal process. I also hold my SGC and the bullshit Scot gov air weapons cert.

You ask about probationary periods yet quote target shooting as a good reason ?? Anyone whom joins a Home office approved club needs to go through a probationary period regardless of previous experience. Medical checks and a questionnaire completed by your gp have been part of the firearms licensing process for a good while now.

Easy enough to get a gun legally you say Mull !!! That’s absolutely incorrect. We have some of the strictest firearms laws of any developed nation. Good reason to possess, medical checks, probationary periods etc etc in all honesty it’s easier to get a firearm illegally than legally in the UK.

Petrol is just creeping up regardless of $ per barrel figure, the everyday cost of living is skyrocketing , Ukraine is witnessing wholesale slaughter and its grain exports etc are on hold which very shortly will effect us all even more than it has already yet the media is obsessed with partygate crap. On a slightly different tack all this doesn’t seem to be doing the ruble any harm at all.

Contract cutting oak today, the guy is semi retired but has probably cut more hardwood in his working life than I’ll ever see. Doesn’t matter how old or experienced you are it’s good to spend time around old boys whom have been there and done it.

I’d hold every single politician whom voted in and supported the restrictions we had to tolerate Mark not just the ruling party, there were only a handful of people in Westminster whom had the balls and common sense to question things. Where did I defend them ?? I’ve said for ages a good opposition is important and sadly lacking. A few but I do remember they had a cracking disco night in the working men’s club many moons ago. Cracking chipper too.

Mark when Labour and Starmer in particular stop dripping like an nsu infested knob I’ll have a lot more respect and interest in them. Come up with some policies or valid and fresh ideas etc as the constant slagging off of the tories and nothing else does not constitute a decent opposition.

The French energy companies are already big players in the UK renewable market. They are certainly not in it for charitable reasons. It’s basically a licence to extract billions from the end users ie UK consumers.

Sadly a lot of what you say is true and having seen the workforce accommodation and rotations at lamprells Dubai for example I’m well aware how and why they do it. But the free pass given about this is infuriating especially compared to for example the partygate bollocks and how much press it gets. I make a conscious effort not to buy tat in particular tat manufactured in the Far East. We need a long term plan not as you say one that gets them to the next election, unfortunately I just don’t think we have the political characters or business leaders in place to come up with one.
