  1. I’d not disagree in the whole J but as you’ve alluded to yourself on many occasions the quality of housing in general is not great here particularly compared to the Scandinavian and Baltic states ( my Finnish ex constantly gets on her high horse regarding that particular comparison) We desperately need to move away from the full on capitalism profit at all cost model especially from what I consider essential services ie water, gas/electricity etc etc hopefully the last 12-18 month has brought home how bad things are in reality. Maybe in the future more builders will incorporate better systems including solar panels etc but the reality of a pure electric only source of heating last winter for me would have been financially horrific. Just curious and being lazy not researching it but what’s the set up over there regards electricity companies and the main source ie nuclear/ gas etc. The Norwegian crane op on the vessel I’m on was explaining to us how he charges his electric vehicle to 100% for literally pence, some huge powerful Chinese suv thing.
  2. No idea about Sweden and Norway I’m just giving you a first hand account of what I found. What do you use by the way ?? I’ve spent enough time in winter in Finland to know they do something right over there. Houses were for my taste uncomfortably warm most of the time. Pretty sure nuclear was the predominant power source at the time. The stove in the pic is the main heat source for my house 5KW running on milling waste 👍👍I’ll take that any day over the set up he had in Uist.
  3. I stayed in a new build ultra well insulated etc etc holiday cottage built to the highest specifications ( with solar panels) up in Uist last winter with an air source heat pump set up. The landlord was moaning big time at the cost of running it and from my experience despite operating it as instructed the place was bloody freezing ( I don’t mind a cool house neither) and had limited hot water capacity. Ok maybe 3 working guys coming and going at the same time and expecting to shower in the evening placed nonstandard demands on system but I was not impressed.
  4. I know you are prone to having the odd fanny fit but there was never any panic 42.
  5. No I’m stating the fact that I’ve been going on about the piss take that is the renewables free for all around our coastline for ages. People hear and swallow the utter lie or propaganda about us being world leaders or that other disgusting crap “ a renewables powerhouse “ without having the slightest clue of the reality of the situation.
  6. I’ve been saying that ever since I joined this site
  7. 😂😂😂😂😂 behold the common UK coastal sea mice and penis fish, often found at the end of outfalls.
  8. Nope as always it’s only you 42 as you’ve proved for years on here 👍
  9. I do remember my early diving days being introduced to sea mice and penis fish on outfall extensions, there was a load around the coast in the early 90s including off newbiggin to meet the EU water regs.
  10. Story of my life
  11. Mark I’d agree wholeheartedly but this fantasy bs whereby we just stop oil and gas production and all will be well again is total crap mate. I’m all for looking after the environment but totally hamstringing ourselves and relying purely on imported products is pure lunacy ( look at the coal import figures alone Mark and where it comes from) Drax power station and the farce that is wood-chip or on your doorstep ie lynemouth power station. What I find interesting is it’s the same fools who swallowed and argued for the covid lunacy that are now buying into to whole msm global boiling terror propaganda. I genuinely think we as a nation are ****************ed mate, way way too many gullible woke soft fools and successive shit governments one after the other.
  12. Not enough
  13. Mark if it were up to me much of what we see making billions for shareholders would be nationalised including oil or at least a stat oil percentage set up, unfortunately it’s not and until we come up with a viable alternative my sawmill, pick up, chainsaw etc etc won’t run on fairy juice.
  14. WTF 😳 you mean you aren’t being boiled, UN 😞 Right now and tomorrow 👍
  15. Nice to see you are back to riding on other people’s posts again 42, any input on China and India yet vs what we contribute globally 🤔🤔🤔 or give me one good reason why we should not extract our own oil and gas, support employment here etc etc. Do you know how much coal the UK imports 42 ??? Another thing we should be extracting here rather than playing the “ look at us we are so environmentally friendly” then importing the same stuff 🤷‍♂️shit swallowed by mugs 42. Msm have gone into overdrive with the climate stuff lately just as they did with the whole covid farce.
  16. Please or thank you might have got you somewhere but go and do a modicum of research in regards the wild statements he’s making then come back. I’ll give you a pointer in regards LNG look at south hook terminal in Milford Haven and tell me how far that is from Qatar. Also it is not 100 new projects is it ?? It’s 100 licences for particular blocks. If they do find anything do you have any idea of how long it takes to bring a new find online ???. Mark was probably coming in his pants at the terms he used against Sunak but it doesn’t stop the fact it was pure bollocks.
  17. Forget the politics Mark but that video is so full of factual and statistical errors it’s not worth posting.
  18. Doobin is spot on regards the axle locks, I’d be looking to lift as much as possible over the front utilising the blade for stability. Cross carriage lifts are always gonna give you a bit more to worry about. What’s the max size of logs you are planning to move ??
  19. Looks a tidy set up, was that put together by yourself or is it kit ??.
  20. The Scottish Nazi Party yet again wanting to control every aspect of people’s existence. “Freedom” not bloody likely with this bunch of fools and the green idiots backing them.
  21. Articulate as always, prior to the so called “ pandemic “ I never had a great deal of time for him but the guy speaks more sense than 99% of our politicians.
  22. Home Office secretly backs facial recognition technology to curb shoplifting APPLE.NEWS Covert government strategy to install electronic surveillance in shops raises issues around bias... Not normally a fan of the Guardian but good for them in regards the article. We are already subject to a ridiculous amount of surveillance as it is. The sentencing that we see is utterly pathetic so in reality why the obsession with cameras. Watched a documentary last night about physical attacks on police officers and as I’ve said the punishments were utterly derisory.
  23. I’ve seen a few huge pussies around too 42, regards Trump well at least he’s got a rough idea of what planet he’s on which is more than can be said for old Joe.
  24. Are arsonists behind Italy's devastating wildfires? - BBC News WWW.BBC.COM Residents suspect most of the blazes blighting their stunning region are intentionally lit. I’m seeing more and more of this at minute. Regardless of the weather it would seem a good many of the fires are being deliberately lit. 🤷‍♂️🤔I wonder why 'Fire of the century' for Corfu as some locals suspect arsonists behind blazes on Greek island APPLE.NEWS I'm standing watching a helicopter scoop water out of the Ionian Sea and dump it... Little bit more evidence for 42 Overview - Generalised anxiety disorder in adults - NHS WWW.NHS.UK Everyone has feelings of anxiety at some point in their life. However, some people... I know you worried rather a lot to say the least during the Covid farce and it seems climate change is a now also a concern to you at the min but the NHS has it covered 👍, bit of therapy and a cuddle will see you right 42.
  25. Well I’d say anyone who survived those early days deserves every penny they got. The casualty statistics for that period make for grim reading. 1600-1700 a day at min for sat, the difference is I guess the cost of everything has rocketed and the tax bands have stayed put for years so the benefits are not as great as they maybe once were. I mentioned in a previous post that I know a good few guys who are paying 60-80k a year in tax for the privilege of being locked in the bin for weeks on end, thanks to our ridiculous tax code you have guys onboard the vessel going tax free due to seaman’s regs ( even though they are not vessel crew ) but divers or dive supvs don’t qualify.
