  1. Devices to stop drivers speeding could be mandatory in all new cars APPLE.NEWS Measures, which would be introduced for safety reasons, would be likely to be backed by environmental campaigners Well so much for doing our own thing after Brexit. After the last two years the alarm bells ring whenever I see anything about keeping us safe that in reality involves more interference in your day to day life. We have speed limits 🤷‍♂️ is that not enough !!. Having your car hooked up to an all powerful gps system that can shut you down or force you to doodle along at 30mph !!!! if that isn’t excessive overreaching control I’m not sure what is.
  2. 38mm /1”1/2wide I’m using, I’d have liked to try diesel for sure if I had solid wheels but the ones on there are belted. Which mill is it you are using??. I checked all the blade speed settings as the factory recommended ones were in my opinion too fast and resulted in ultra fine dust, I’ve come down a bit on the speed and the results are better. I guess it’s a never ending learning curve.
  3. Yeah I’ve considered that but blades are not running much set at all, defo no more than factory settings, 4800mm long blade and sometimes using the the full width 1100mm of the throat it’s just a lot of dust to shift depending on age/condition of log. Some days it’s a doddle others it can be frustrating as hell. I find blade cleanliness is a huge factor with this mill, “ possibly due to the fact it doesn’t have a huge excess of HP”currently in process of putting together a few mods to fit additional cleaning systems including possibly a 12v widescreen type pump and a couple of spray nozzles to help with heavy build up, I’ll see how that goes. I think like most mills there’s always something that you want or think you want to make it suit your particular needs. Those oddball woodmizer blades did actually leave the board much cleaner but I hit steel on the second cut so dropped back to the tipped x cuts in case there was more, which unfortunately there was.
  4. Nothing glamorous about today’s job, knocking up cladding for a customer whom wanted to utilise another storm victim 🤷‍♂️
  5. Working through some nice Oak, another victim of the storms this winter. Some nice patterns. Trying out a different blade to try and pull more dust out, 800-1m slabbing cut are a delicate balance of all the factors involved i find, mess up one and that thin band just does it’s own thing big time. Last 3 pics are a fireplace surround my neighbour made using Oak cut from another piece of the same tree as the boards came from. When you see a tree that was probably gonna end up either rotting away of being ringed/chipped up being used to make quality features like that it makes the effort to recover it even more worthwhile.
  6. I think this has been in the development stage for a good while Mark.
  7. I already have 😊 Why wouldn’t she be 🤷‍♂️I’d say compared to Boris and that bloody whining non event Starmer she is in a different league.
  8. I’d back Ruth Davidson tomorrow to be leader of the Tory party Mark over anyone. I didn’t say I agreed with all her views, but I did use to enjoy watching her destroy Sturgeon. If she’s that Furious I’d love to see her step up Mark.
  9. To be honest J I totally agree with the wind farm ban onshore. The technology is well proven to develop and install these things offshore and would create tens of thousands of jobs if managed correctly as a bonus. They are an absolute eyesore in my opinion when built on land. The history of neglecting wind and renewables in general goes back years J. Politicians often claim we are world leaders etc etc in renewables, that’s a downright lie, what we are is world leaders in buying in from all over the world structures manufactured elsewhere and installed by foreign companies with foreign vessels and crews. All to be paid for at the end of the day by the UK consumer. In regards EV,s well the Mrs runs a 14 plate 2.0diesel insignia that we’ve owned from 4 months old, zero hsssle apart from general wear and tear, £30 a year to tax and min 55-60 mpg with a 700 mile range on one tankful,it owes us nothing and should go a good while yet, for her there is zero incentive to go EV especially after the power cuts this winter. Myself running a 3.2 ranger and all the towing I do I’ve at the min zero alternative options in the UK, yeah there are some amazing electric pick up options starting to appear in the USA but the chances of them doing RHD are zero. EVs have a place for sure but are a long way from being the solution they are portrayed as, and I most certainly won’t be rushing out to buy anything just yet. Mind you if money was no object I’d not say no to one of these in rhd . I guess that’s another bonus of the Swedish move J, an abundance of decent LHD pick ups. 10. What do you or rather who do you see as a viable more effective alternative. Myself in regards that power hungry covid obsessed lunatic Sturgeon “ whom I occasionally mention” the alternative is the one person she feared and whom destroyed her in any verbal encounter, Ruth Davison, gutted she bailed out.
  11. It’s not about being happy about it it’s more that as I’ve stated within the circle of peoples I mix in most have had an utter belly full of politicians and MSM headlines. As I also said I wish we had a decent opposition or indeed even a few good tories.
  12. I mix with a pretty broad base of people Mark, most were fed up with the covid stupidity long ago. If you really were that naive and played those rules by the book then I’m not surprised you are annoyed. Mind you I don’t think for a minute that’s the case. I will agree and say that the current bunch of politicians of all parties are undoubtedly some of the worst I’ve seen in my lifetime.
  13. And !! Mick my point is most people have zero respect for most politicians of any party at the minute, I really wish we had a valid opposition or better still some decent tories, the rules were utter utter stupidity and quite frankly most I know pretty much ignored them especially after the initial lockdown. If those who stuck rigidly to them are now up in arms then more fool them. To be honest I’d have thought the Met would of had far more serious things to be getting on with.
  14. You know Mark most people I talk to don’t give a shit bud, they are more concerned with the reality of the current struggle to make ends meet than this crap. As for Labour stop whining and convince me you can do better because the constant dripping about the party on the other side is impressing no one. let’s face it we all broke the utterly ridiculous pointless rules didn’t we !!, I know I certainly did and would again.
  15. UK loses out as work on trio of giant floating wind projects falls to Lamprell WWW.ENERGYVOICE.COM Work on a trio of giant floating wind projects off UK waters is to go to Lamprell, the fabricator based in the United Arab... Rather than governments either side of the border worrying about trans conversion or 16 yr olds voting maybe we should be looking at the reason this is happening time after time. Absolutely disgraceful.
  16. I’d say it is an animal loving country, the fact that the media choose not to report on this is more likely to be indicative of the money involved in horse racing and the associated gambling not to mention the people involved in it.
  17. Scotland to become first part of UK to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to enter Parliament APPLE.NEWS The plan would allow under-18s to become MSPs at the next Scottish Parliament election in 2026 Well I hope they have more sense than I did at 16-17 🤷‍♂️. Or maybe that’s just what the SNP are banking on, be careful what you wish for may turn out to be a prophetic saying what with the power of social media etc.
  18. Not sure what it is Eggs but if I’m too far away from the coast I really can’t stand it. Tried living inland and in a town before and hated every minute of it. Being at the beach or even working at sea etc just feels right, each to their own mind. Northumberland has both stunning countryside including woodlands and amazing coastlines. That and generally pretty decent people too.
  19. I’d move back to Alnwick/Northumberland in a heartbeat if I had my way, rural Aberdeenshire is the price of keeping the Mrs sweet. Beautiful coastline ( apart from the mine waste damage further south)and spent many happy carefree days at Cresswell beach with the kids, swimming and Winkle picking etc.
  20. Revealed: Rishi Sunak ‘listed in tax haven as trust beneficiary’ while chancellor APPLE.NEWS Exclusive: Chancellor noted in documents related to his wife’s finances from Cayman and British Virgin islands in 2020, say... Looking very like the press are on the hunt, I wonder whom is wanting little Rishi Wisdom out of the loop.
  21. Where do the moonbat species fit in ??
  22. Maybe so Andy but it’s an almighty piss take none-the less bud, especially as you know to your cost how joe average guy on the street whom tries to get on gets humped. Will her husband and family be benefiting from this 🤷‍♂️Absolutely yes. Sadly the covid hysteria induced free for all in regards spending has just given them the green light to tax people more and more. Unless of course you know a few cracking loopholes.
  23. Nope not at all but it’s still surely at the minimum a conflict of interest. I’m no socialist in any way shape or form but quite frankly to hold the position he does whilst having a wife whom benefits from that nice little loophole is a joke.
  24. You don’t see even a slight conflict of interest Mick seeing the current role her husband plays in government !!. It’s yet another loophole that is there for the benefit of a tiny few. Mind you there’s been a succession of governments that have been drawn in by Indian money for a long time now.
